Dear Reader Posted March 22 Posted March 22 oh so this is why the store had that made up error, it was poets day 3
Magickarp Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Oh this ate. The bass drop in the bridge OT: TTPD is coming out in 4 weeks 1
Tusk Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Is it weird to anyone else that an album advertised as poetry has the most un-poetic titles of her career sans the bonus tracks and a few others? 1 1 1 1

This song gets so overlook by the fanbase but it's one of her best work ever melodically. 10

It threw me off guard at first but it's just a sign that it won't be Folklore 2.0 but that ok. A darker Midnights maybe 1

I guess that depends on what you mean by "poetic," they don't really give quill pen songs or whatever it was she called them but that's not really all poetry is For me, it's the other way around - outside of a few songs (Down Bad, I Can Fix Him, loml... which have heavy Taylor Swift Single energy) the tracks do have literary vibes; titles like Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, The Alchemy and even the title song would look more at home in a poetry or short story collection than they would a pop album A song title like 'cardigan' doesn't really strike me as poetic either, and yet 15 1
Redstreak Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Maybe this is a spoken word album which is why she's so focused on poetry

Will Beyonce ever leave the man credibly accused in his 30s of allegedly impregnating a 14 year old? I'm not an Ariana or Beyonce fan but the way you speak about women is shocking. Dear Leader wouldn't appreciate this misogyny! You'll be getting a timeout at recess. 3 1

Midnights was so huge and NO ONE saw that close-to-200K numbers last time, but being Q4 and against Arctic Monkeys (a lot of press about it) really pushed it, This will do less... you really think ttpd won't outsell midnights in UK despite her being infinitely more in demand now than she was in 2022 thanks to eras tour because *checks notes* midnights sales were fueled by arctic monkeys competition? lmao 1989 tv sold almost the same as midnights in pure sales WITHOUT signed copies or a tour related giveaway/presale code promo tactic. it fell short with streams due to the way streams are converted to album units by the OCC. all real metrics point to a much bigger debut for ttpd. worst case scenario is that ttpd will have a similar debut with midnights (200-205k) swifties and haters alike always love to underestimate her time and time again and always act shocked when she outperforms their expectations as if the signs weren't already there from the start 3
Redstreak Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Caved and ordered the black dog vinyl so now I have six copies plus eventually what I get at target 💀

It's modern style poetry. This Is not inspired by Dickinson like folkmore style but modern poets like Megan Fox (The ones in Red are megan Fox poems title and they are very TTPD coded imo) 4

Arrows Posted March 22 Posted March 22 I genuinely think TTPD could debut with 1.5x copies of 1989TV. The streams will be at least that much bigger, and so will the pure sales imo. Much more incentive this time, and it's a brand new album. Midnights did 1.87x more than folklore, and 2.6x more than Red TV. 1

I think Taylor really don't like to perform the Song too. With the exclusion of of Tim McGraw and Me! for obvious reasons is the First single She pays dust more. While despite mixed to poorly early reactions to LWYMMD she seems to believe in the song like **** you i think it's good. I'm gonna admit to something lowkey embarrasing but I started liking Mine more after they covered it on Glee ( ) and recontextualized it as a break up song and now in my mind that's what it is and how I personally percieve it now. 1
