yeah it has that timeless and classic sound, not cringe, still fresh

No... but also yes? It sounds straight out of the late-90s, with all the beep-bop rave sounds, but that's not a bad thing. "Dated" is not an inherently negative thing.

At the end of the day, it's an excellent song and one of the most creative pop hits of its time.

From a UK perspective, about half the chart still sounds like ray of light in any given week, i'm calling it timeless

Madonna was truly on a different level from all the pop girls past and present in the 90s. :deadbanana2:

I mean it has the late 90s electronica sound found on other songs of the time, but it still sounds fabulous today. Euphoric, frenetic, absolutely joyful.

whenever i listen to ROL i can feel within me a reminder of the unstoppable march of time. I feel at one with the natural flow of the universe. I am insignificant and in awe of something unfathomable and truly greater that i will never comprehend to the fullest. pure greatness xo:celestial4:

It def could have achieved the same amount of success that it did then. Idk about anything more but ROL is a rather under appreciated album from Madonna so I could see her getting a resurgence from it.

didnt vote cause its def not dated but to be timeless it needs to be more than just a good song- and thats all it is.

The whole album.

I feel like only the end of the song truly dates it. Other songs from that record have aged better.

It does hold it against me streams daily so yes it's forgotten. I wouldn't call it dated but it sounds like the year it was released.
