I know 3M is a stretch, but I feel like it can do it (like 3.02m or something). It's just an icing on top, debuting with 2m is already a massive feat.

It's not a stretch. She already passed it

And how did you know that exactly?

I mean if she debuts with 2.8M units, I think that's great considering how deep we are in the streaming era. No one can command fans to buy 2M pure copies in a week like her. She can break the record by the next album or when she comes back to country or do some rock album like her fans want from her. It's her call.

By the next album, she'll not be in the middle of the tour so she'll probably have ample time to promote unlike how she promoted TTPD.

Where? in RIAA units maybe, not in billboard debut

Billboard reported  that it was at 2,6M units yesterday (FULL 6 days) so it will do 2,7M maximum.

With all 31 songs debuting in the Top 50 of our Streaming Songs chart—six of them logging 40m+ streams—Taylor Swift's THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT (Republic) has set a new record for most streams in a week.

Swift's 11th LP will earn 864 million streams in its first week, surpassing the previous record-holder, Drake's Scorpion (746m), by more than 100m.

Looking at the numbers I don't think she needs the support of a few bitter gays

She doesn't and that's why they're MAD. :clap3:

was she close to break Drake's record?

She broke it by more than 100k. 'Scorpion' did 551k in SEA units.

Correction: Actually 'Certified Lover Boy' had the record in SEA units with 562k, 'Scorpion' had it in total streams with 746M.

'TTPD' has done 865M in streams and 670k in units, so the result is the same.
