vuelve88 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Wait until they add commercials throughout this continuous stream Then we'll be back to regular TV 1 8
Miss Fortune Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Hahah I did a proposal for this (not for Disney) last year. I have been craving for a long time, the ability to just watch old style Cartoon Network or Disney Channel without ads. Short, ad-free and 20 min episodes where you don't have to decide on a season and episode. The reality is, when it comes to cartoons (like Dexter's Lab, Hey Arnold or Recess for example), you are happy to just watch a random episode. Pretty sure this will perform really well as it'll deal well with choice fatigue/ cognitive overload when choosing what to watch. 7
KingWitch Posted April 15 Posted April 15 This was expected, the old style tv model is still the most profitable. Plus how many of us have movies from our childhood that we loved simply because they were always on tv only to find out they were actually flops? 1
Space Cowboy Posted April 15 Posted April 15 There are some streaming services like Pluto TV that already do this. I'm always watching their South Park and Spongebob channels. 1

Hephaestus Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Not surprising but the fact we're going back to regular cable TV format while on streaming is kinda hilarious. A reverse warholian experience if you will 1
wigglytuffer Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Reminds me of ITVX having a Love Island-only channel and it's literally Love Island 24/7 🤣
Aaron Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Paramount+ and Peacock already do this and it's such a nice option, would love it for a random shuffled playlist of classic Disney Channel sitcoms
Rico Shameless v2 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 That's cool. I already kind of do this with Pluto TV. If I don't feel like scrolling between Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. for 30+ minutes looking for something good, I just pop over to Pluto and choose a reality channel or see what movies are on.
Dula Peep Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Maybe Miley should do a Hannah Montana reboot, what else she got going on atm?
harwee Posted April 15 Posted April 15 (edited) That's where things are headed. Roku has 80 million active users, same with PlutoTV, which is actually more than their own Paramount+. They're all eventually headed towards ad supported in some form. Edited April 15 by harwee
barbiegrande Posted April 16 Posted April 16 The way we went full circle with media is crazy Physical media is being more collected again. Streaming apps are turning into cable. Movie theaters are still somewhat thriving.
