MP3 Posted April 14 Posted April 14 (edited) When there is an election in your country, in your province, in your state, in your city, do you vote ? For me, since I'm 18, I vote at every level of political (federal, provincial and municipal) Edited April 14 by MP3
TROPICUM Posted April 14 Posted April 14 you'd do a disservice to yourself and others by not voting vote! 2
The7thStranger Posted April 14 Posted April 14 I vote when I can. I live in Germany, but I'm not a citizen, so I can only vote in local elections. I do vote in these. For the US, I often miss local election sign-up dates because I don't live there anymore, and I don't keep up with it. But I try to do the bigger ones. Always presidential, of course. For Italy, I vote in any election where I can do a mail-in ballot. So basically, if the consulate sends me a ballot, I participate. These are the reverse of Germany's elections for me, i.e., I can vote in federal-level but not local-level elections, as I am no longer registered as living within the country. 1
Bloodflowers. Posted April 14 Posted April 14 yes, I will be voting for upcoming elections here in Croatia this Wednesday where I will be voting for left-wing progressive green party Možemo and for Sandra Benčić to become our new elected female prime minister of the country (our only previous female prime minister wasn't elected, she was put in that position as a replacement after current prime minister at the time was ousted for corruption)
harwee Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Yes. Nobody votes in my area so can I be in an out in a few minutes on my way to do my groceries.
Bonicap Posted April 14 Posted April 14 No, I don't. It's a competition of egotistic people and mafia-esque companies that just want to set up their friends in useless jobs paid by citizens who actually work. I don't want to legitimize with my vote a mechanism of influence trafficking and corruption that can't be stopped by any means. 1
byzantium Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Yes, there is an election like every 3 months in my area and I always go in to get that sticker. 1
Alldeezy Posted April 15 Posted April 15 here in Australia .. if you don't vote .. you get slapped with a $500 fined .. we don't have a choice and most the time our pm's are F**ked in the head
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Voted when I turned 18 only for the presidential candidate I voted for to lose but that won't stop me this year Also I live in a different state now than the address on my ID and apparently you can't vote in certain states if you have a different state address on your ID so I missed local elections in 2021
Suilen Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I did once because I was forced to by my job (at least they didn't check who I'd voted for, and some places do make you take a pic of your ballot or something), but not really under this dictatorship, no.
Batsy Armada Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Yes, always, if I know about it. Sometimes elections sneak up on me and I don't even realize they're happening until a day, or so, before they're held. I've been doing better at being in tune with the various elections, however, and politics in general. I voted for the past several that were held.
AMIT Posted April 15 Posted April 15 I used to, but after learning more about how the system works I don't anymore. It's a huge waste of time.
Ewan Chaos Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Yes, if I'm honest I don't really care much about voting for the president or anything in a safe blue state, but local elections have been really important for the past few years as have state-specific propositions.
