Has Billie Eilish surpassed Lorde in popularity?

Following several public endorsements from Lana Del Rey, a new alternative-pop princess appears to be emerging on the music scene. When examining her statistics, I was surprised by her success, which rivals that of Lorde, the "future of music" according to David Bowie, who has also had a significant impact on the mainstream.

Spotify Streams (Popular Section Only):

Lorde - 2,848,250,888 Total (Highest: Royals with 1,206,502,846)

Billie Eilish - 6,950,159,529 Total (Highest: lovely with 2,732,322,380)

Instagram Followers:

Lorde - 10.9M

Billie Eilish - 120M

Considering that Billie's highest streamed song makes up nearly 96% of the streams of Lorde's top 5 songs, and Billie's follower count is 11x of Lorde's on Instagram, is it safe to say that Billie Eilish is more popular than Lorde?

I love Lorde, she is like no other artist, but Billie has been bigger than her for the longest time. However, no need to create any animosity between both fandoms. Both Lorde and Billie Eilish create musique that should be appreciated and celebrated together :clap3:

She did that in her first era :rip:

Lorde's recurrent streams are absolutely abysmal. 2.8 million daily for her whole discography :deadbanana2:

Maybe in 2017, but with the way it's aged? I fear Miss Billie is clearing

No. Despite having more Spotify streams, more recurrent streams, more sales, more daily streams, more album certifications, more single certifications, more Instagram followers, more awards, and more relevance, Billie hasn't surpassed Lorde. It will take a few more years for Billie to reach Lorde's level. Whatever level that is.

They're not even comparable lol what is this thread?

Lorde doesn't even use social media like that or promote her music?

She's not a hypocrite, she's not whisper singing, she's not trying to be Lana Del Rey.

Melodrama is an album that's more acclaimed than anything Billie did, she will never achieve the same cult success.

L4 will be album of the decade while Billie's new Ultraviolence wanna-be album showing zero musical growth.

I have never called myself Billie hater before and I truly loved Happier Than Ever (the album) but y'all are really trying it today....

None of the Lorde stans care about popularity and it means nothing.

Yes, Billie has always been more of a mainstream player than Lorde ever was. She also benefitted from debuting at a time when streaming was really taking off and the groundwork of a lot her 'sound' had already been laid by artists like Lorde and Lana (p sure she would be the first one to tell you this). No shade because she's a true talent, but Billie still doesn't have an album as good as Melodrama

Did this thread asking a self-evident question have a point?
