It really just boils down to industry politics. She was never getting a nomination without the push and backing of a major label. And as far as independent smaller artists getting noms, that's not likely unless you have deep connections.

kehlani getting those r&b noms is… icky because neither of those noms are really "r&b" and she legit said Crash was a pivot AWAY from R&B before following it up with that mixtape because.. fans missed her r&b music!

but then again Nasty is about as r&b as After hours so… idk just annoying

the grammys are nothing more than a facade, industry power players lifting up artists and commodities than benefit them. it's a deal with the devil type of game. been trash for years now

i'm sure tinashe changed her wallpaper a long time ago as she should have. nasty is still song of the year in my opinion (alongside apple by charli xcx, good luck babe a close third)

tinashe is better than the grammys

It's literally impossible to get a nom without urban radio. I feel like she should pivot to dance/pop categories if they're gonna keep up the Pop radio strategy

Avery Sunshine & Durrand noms are so grimey too… like it's obviously some lobbying going on there

I don't think the R&B community is ever going to respect her. Unless she cater to shea butter community and get some heavy spins on urban radio she never going to get her dues and respect. Electronic/Dance Pop should be the route she goes next. Victoria had to become she the shea butter princess in order to get those Grammy. Something tell me Tinashe will never be accepted by that community. To make things worse she is antisocial. She needs to release that dance album, She promised but never deliverers.

I don't think Rick reed knew anything about how R&B and Urban committee works. Not pushing nasty hard on Urban was a very dumb choice especially when it was doing so well on Rhythmic. Rhythmic & Urban and with a remix with any actual Urban heavyweight, nasty would have been much much bigger song on the charts , sales, and everything else, to the point they couldn't denied her not only those nominations but wins.

Nasty is bigger than ICU and After hours combine and will most like end up bigger than made for now despite not having major label. but it doesn't get a fraction of the respect or the accolades.

what a shame.

We can pretty much agree this era is pretty much over right?

I hope she working on part 3 now. She should get this tour done and release part 3 right after the tour is over. Tinashe please 🙏 let's wrap this Baby trilogy up ASAP please.

I also hope She did not loose too much money from the tour and it won't affect next era rollout.

Tinashe please no more "Prayer and vibes ". You were able to give us great era for SFU and 333.

Most of the tour dates sold well & her Australian festivals & two sold out shows will bring in lots of cash.

Nasty will probably be bigger than after hours and on my mama combine by the end of the year if it hasn't already

I remember before Nasty took off After Hours actually had more streams and then Nashe zoomed away with it

but the first time I've thought about the song or album at all was today upon learning they snubbed legend T again for this bird

I think she defo needed a radio tour with the Pop heavyhitters to really get her name back out there. I remember her talking about how pop radio refused to play her songs after that photoshoot with Travis Scott and deemed her "too urban" and this was literally like as recent as 8 years ago :deadbanana2: but she never panders to the urban community because her singles always are generally too "pop" so she's in this weird space. Rhythmic, despite being her bread and butter, unfortunately isn't enough. I think times have definitely changed (hopefully) when it comes to genre marketing so if she's hellbent on pandering to Pop (i mean Ricky Reed alone...) then she should really try and get her face out there again. Not sure why it didn't happen with Nasty and NBB but yeah.

How do we like/dislike the tour girls?

I think the only way she'll get nominated (for now) is if Kaytranada submits a Tinashe collab for Dance/Recording :priceless:

God she cant catch a break. Completely robbed from an R&B nom.

She needs to just go the alt pop route bc she will never be embraced by the urban community at this point.....

She need to scrap the third part and take a long break of 2 years in the meantime working on the next album pushing her sound again and figuring out how she can manage to blow up with the next album era without tik tok this time !!

Yeah I made a typo, I meant to say probably end up with higher streaming numbers eventually, at least on Spotify. Made for me had major label backing and everything going for it. less than 25Million stream separate them on Spotify with MFM being out since 2023.

For on my my mama I was still looking at old numbers, my fault.

on my Mama main version has  ~147million stream on Spotify  and a nasty ~ 167Million.

I know On My Mama was bigger on AM music and peak higher on chart ( because of Radio only) Streaming wise they close, especially since OMM was released 9months before nasty and had major label backing and a lot of promotions.

Either way my point is Nasty has more stream than both ICU and After hours combined and not far behind On My Mama and Made For me, all four theses  songs or artists were not nominated but won Grammys.

I'm going Wednesday and I'm not entirely too thrilled. Her setlist was better in February.

Why does it seem like she just hates SFY?
