Yola - Dancing Away In Tears: Omfggggggg. Another classic omg. Y'all this playlist is sooooo good aklskfjas :jonny: omg this song is just so beautiful, it has that vintage flare of course but also feels very modern. The instrumentation hits all the right ways, the lyrics hit all the right ways, everything is in its right place, and the message really resonates with me. It is just so emotional and lush and heartfelt, it really grabs me and stands out excellently in this playlist. THANK YOU for the Lemur pander it is greatly appreciated [3]

Becca Hatch - Blessed: This is a bit H&M but hey it's still really groovy, I would be dancing in the store as I peruse graphic tees! I think the strings keep things interesting enough to elevate this beyond just some really basic song, and the rhythmic melody in the chorus is really pleasing to me

Lunar Vacation - The Basement: I do like this, sounds like something I'd be obsessed with 5 years ago, but tbh this round is just so strong for me and I think this is going to narrowly miss out on points from me. While it is pretty and very enjoyable, it's just neither exciting enough nor emotionally resonant enough to make the cut, so sorry you would've gotten big points from me in any other playlist so far this season :cries:

The Deep - BAPPI: This just made me realize no one has sent k-pop in like 10 whole rounds kaskjdfkls. It hits all the marks for a gay-friendly random k-pop song! The production is really good, very clubby and fun and fast-paced! Not my favorite in the playlist but I like it enough for low points

alaina castillo - extasis - anitta sounds like whitney houston next to this "singer", also the melodies are super one note and boring like if this were an instrumental only i would have enjoyed it (just a bit tho cuz even that's not that great)

orion sun - dirty dancer - What was this omg 😭 just basic and horrible omg please be eliminated how did you get this far?

Posted

crystal murray - too much to taste - the goofy lyrics were cute but it ended up being annoying sonically, like i wouldn't listen to this again sorrys

Posted

lucky daye - hericane - the beat is so fun and catchy, cute sing, the best one so far but like I'm not gagging :gaycat7:

Posted

kelechi - forever tonight - that part at the ~chorus sounds so much like sam smith - la la la ijbol... anyway it's so generic and cheap sounding in a way like I don't like it

Posted

regina spektor - samson - sorry the title reminded me of this bop of the century and that was my only thought throughout the song

Posted

charlotte dos santos - away from you - nice vocals and the chorus was catchy, best one so far?

Posted

flowerovlove - boys - cute bop, yes I like

Posted

kennie - attention - the beat is giving me a headache and ive never been a fan of shygirl'd whispering

Posted

sinead harnett - the song itself was nice and I like her vocals, the production is so dated tho

Posted

yola - dancing away in tears - it's background music but just really good background music

Posted

becca hatch - blessed - bekuh boom >>>>

Posted

lunar vacation - the basement - it was so noisy omg, also way too much instrumental for my liking, it's a mess tbh

Posted

the deep - bappi - i was boppi but it was mostly the instrumental tbh, they did nothing melodically/vocally on this, it's cute but not useable for me

Posted

Alaina Castillo - éxtasis

Started a bit dark then lowkey transitioned into your usual oontz oontz music but it didn't hit hard enough for me. A hard pass me thinks.

Posted

Orion Sun - dirty dancer

Very pleasant and chill, a really nice song to drive along to.

Posted

Crystal Murray - Too Much to Taste

This is lowkey giving Estelle (?) vibes, diggin it a lot.

Lucky Daye - HERicane

I've first heard of him through that Joyce Wrice collab. This was actually a nice tune especially for a male artist.

Posted

Kelechi - Forever Tonight

Lowkey a bit tired of the 80s sound but I'll give this a chance.

Posted

Regina Spektor - Samson

A very lovely ballad, such a shame she's a Zionist.

Charlotte Dos Santos - Away From You

I had a moment with this album last year and this one was of the songs that stuck with me the most. Great choice.
