Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Johnny Orlando - Close To You: it's not giving for me personally, the vocals were not mashing with my brain
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Coldplay - Major Minus: oh period, another mega classic from kings
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 SG Lewis - Something About Your Love: I find the repetition of this chorus irritating and the sound of the song in general is just tired to meΒ
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 The Summer Set - Lightning In A Bottle: the vocals are beyond grating oh my lord
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over: this was sweet, I liked itΒ
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Bleachers - Hate That You Know Me: corny we hate you Jack Antonoff
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 The Neighbourhood - Stargazing: this is cutesy, will probably snag a couple points from me unless everything left is mind-bogglingly amazing
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Tom Misch - Disco Yes (feat. Poppy Ajudha): this is quite fun, I found the outro a bit tiring but I still liked it a lotΒ
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Cosmo's Midnight - Titanic: I like the instrumental here a lot, the vocals are kinda detracting from that tho
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Kid Bloom - DOES IT MAKE ME WRONG?: kinda liked it but it also kinda just passed me by, but for some reason by the end I was nodding my head a bitΒ
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Alfie Templeman - Candyfloss: I feel like I was getting a bit of exhaustion because of the order this fell on the tracklist, but I did quite like it and actually looked at him for this round
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Donny Osmond - I'll Make a Man Out of You: I've never actually seen this movie so I have no attachment to this sorry, I appreciate the switchup it provided in the playlist tho
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Sing Street - Drive It Like You Stole It: ummmm okayyy not this being a groovy ass bop :duckass:
Auburn Posted June 5 Posted June 5 George Clanton - I Been Young: at first I was worried about this cuz the vocals sounded too drowned out by the production but it sounded better by the end, I really enjoyed this one too
Fruity Posted June 5 Posted June 5 JMSN - Cruel Intentions: this was mixed, overall it felt as though it took itself too seriously. Some of elements were definitely good and others were sadly not for me. It became tiring
Fruity Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Luke Bryan - Country Girl (Shake It For Me): didn't HATE this sonically, in fact kinda was moving. The lyrics are definitely difficult to stomach⦠maybe if we classify country as camp then it works. Wouldn't count on points
Fruity Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Coldplay - White Shadows: this album reminds me of my brother, he played it a lot. I always kinda preferred X&Y to their first albums (which I now recognise are superior). Regardless, this remains a fave and I always thought it should've been a single. It's kind of epic how it starts soft but builds to go hard af at times
Fruity Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Tame Impala - Is It True: I mean it's a banger, one of his catchiest for sure
Fruity Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Djo - Figure You Out: I listened to this album around the time End of Beginning went viral and I have to say this was my fave track, I replayed it quite a few times. The last half of the song is fantastic for me, especially the addictive long outro from 2 mins onwards
Fruity Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Johnny Orlando - Close To You: this was very unremarkable and kind of eye roll. Can't really be bothered to write anything more
Fruity Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Coldplay - Major Minus: I never loved this album, the production always had this cheap tinny sound to me... and this submission reaffirms that I still feel the same. The downgrade from their noughties albums into the following decade is sad, although nothing quite like Maroon 5 level. Overall don't hate it but points are doubtful
Fruity Posted June 5 Posted June 5 SG Lewis - Something About Your Love: I'm a fan of this dude and even worked with him on a brand campaign for one of my clients, he was really chill. I love his sound and enjoy this album, although this track isn't one I replayed at all. But I'm liking it now. Maybe it's too long yeh, but will still give points
Fruity Posted June 5 Posted June 5 The Summer Set - Lightning In A Bottle: The hell is this submission omg?? And why do I not hate it?? Β Ugh I'm so vulnerable to an infectious tune. Idk if anyone remembers Hot Chelle Rae but this reminds me of their hitsΒ Β
Fruity Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over: one of my close school friends who is a wannabe singer-songwriter-producer used to worship this album a loooot and yeh I fully GET it. Great choice
