prequell - part vii

sounds like eurovision filler (derogatory)

points from me: well I think you can tell

daniela spala - te veo a la salida

the city pop influence is kind of fun, not really gripped by this otherwise though

points from me: I think it will just miss the cut off

precious - any way u want

amazing way to end the group LDKSJf not the bop at the end. there's a cheap vibe to this that I find really endearing. this reminds me of Abra (this random throwback) but dancier. there's a layer of gloss that I really like

points from me: yup!!

group D - recap comments:

Spoiler

elio - vitamins

it's pretty fun, I like her songs where you can feel the charli influence best. the production is energetic and definitely the highlight. her delivery is a little more indie'd/soft but I think the contrast works enough

maggie rogers - shatter

I think people were hesitant about her like, rock rebrand, but for me it was the first time I cared to listen to her music. I like the dance-rock vibes of this, they're fun! I don't love her voice that much (in general) but overall this is pretty decent

magdalena bay - only if you want it

it's a magdalena bay song for sure. it starts off with a pretty cute and glossy impression but I lose interest about a minute in... can't say I'd return to it but also don't dislike it, just kind of in the middle

samantha urbani - isolation

beat isn't bad, not really being drawn in though. I think the song is fine but its not something I'd listen to so I might just toss it a point or two and be done

kristinia debarge - sabotage

maybe if I had nostalgia for this it would be different

tate mcrae - run for the hills

so is this era just done?  this is kind of weeknd'd, not bad... her voice takes me out of it a bit but this is fine

flo milli - conceited

this was super refreshing after the last songs for some reason, its pretty repetitive but its fun and I enjoyed it

empress of - lorelei

bunch of people were talking about this album but I didn't get around to it. I like how fast paced the beat is and I think the general vibe is quite cool, I'll prob check the rest out eventually but for now this was pretty fun!!

teena marie - portugese love

talk about overstaying a welcome

anjulie - some dumb girl

this jazzy sound is way better than her later music with the tired electropop and forced bad ***** attitude. can't say I love it but it was pleasant

tyla - breathe me

yepppp I was waiting for a song that really struck with me and this is the one! this was a clear highlight when I heard her album and is prob my fave off it. it has a dreamy vibe and her vocals are great

gia woods - heartbreak radio

yeah its super euro pop. I don't dislike it but its a song i've heard like 25 times before so im just unenthusiastic about it rn

I mean, you can't be praising Vitamins and that Tyla song, which are sooo generic and then say that the Oscar worthy James Bond theme-like Part VII is a Eurovision filler.

But ok, we clicked on most things :clap3:

Group B

The Way I Do - Bishop Briggs

Cute but doesn't really go anywhere until the end but when she sings she can really SING.

Posted

Group B

Roll It - Shontelle

The potential is there but it's missing that punch because of how repetitive it was. Still bopped.

Group B

The One - Tamar Braxton

Cute! Love the vocals

Happy New Year - Let's Eat Grandma

Teen coming of age movie core but it was cute. Was waiting to hear fireworks in the background and they did not disappoint.

Cherub - Coco & Clair Clair

Oh I am bopping. Yes finally something to shake my ass a bit. Production on point. Only thing I didn't like was how short it was :/

Group B

Cinderella - Remi Wolf

Bop! Loved it. Heard of this girl but never tried to actually listen to any of her music. Might have made a new fan out of me. Points docked for the annoying whistle though.

Love the throwback vibes. A cute sing.
