Jen became a Global household name when she released her debut album On The 6, and If you had my love became a Worldwide Smash, Jen building a global Fan base, is the Reason people checked out the Selena movie, like me, I didn't have a clue who she was been from the UK, untill I watched the movie because of Jennifer Lopez.. and it's the same for just about everyone else outside the US.

 

Jennifer got her breakout Role for playing Selena in the American Market but out of sight was her Global breakthrough, then releasing music internationally from the get go, is the Reason people checked out the Film.

 

Jennifer Lopez is 100% the main reason most people learned of who Selena was internationally.

 

Selena's music still isn't really known outside the US, especially in Places like the UK, Ireland,France, Germany,Poland, Russia, Australia etc.

 

if Jen didn't play her then alot of people still wouldn't really know who she is today.

 

There's a Concert Clip somewhere of Jennifer in Concert in Russia, talking about Selena & paying tribute (singing Si Una Vez) and she says, Wow some of you do know it! 

 

It's her doing stuff like that is why people learn who she was.
