People were definitely labelling Miley, Britney, and every other pop girl to make the transition that Jojo is doing some campy abstract performance art version of as cringey more than they were scandalous. Those critiques don't stick out as much in hindsight after all of them have legitimized themselves as artists. Jojo is being very entertaining at the very least and the hate reeks of misogyny more than it does actual opinions on her music because let's be real who ever the age of 13 has ever heard it.
