Matangi
True Blue was the beginning of Madonnas global dominance. ARTPOP was the end of Gagas global dominance. True Blue included career-defining classics and hits (Open Your Heart, Papa Don't Preach, La Isla Bonita, Live To Tell) and continued to show Madonnas artistic evolution. ARTPOP was a huge quality decline and was her last big commercial era, because of her big eras prior.

True Blue is one of the biggest albums of all time with one of the most iconic single runs of all time. It cemented Madonna as a superstar. ARTPOP put a huge dent in Gaga's pop career and she had to do movies and jazz. This is not a fair comparison and I actually like ARTPOP. The Fame Monster would have been more appropriate. A Million Lights
True Blue was obviously bigger but honestly ARTPOP aged a lot better
Gov Hooka
I'm gonna get stoned to hell for this but here it goes anyway: the only 80s Madonna album better than artpop is her debut (quite literally the Bible of 80s dance pop and one of the best albums of the decade). TB and LAV are only good because of the singles but the rest is filler… Conversely nearly every song in AP HITS, little filler. LAP is a good album, but not my fav. TB obviously bigger and better single choices.
