State of Grace. Posted April 4 Posted April 4 This is even better than the original holy **** Her remixes are 10/10s. The way she made it a whole new song and elevated it whew. 2
Negiiiii Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Now this is the kind of song I USE she knew the OG wasn't for me
Aribiotch. Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Oh I'm loving this! I just love how she continues to pay homage to New Orleans Bounce music

Kristie Kuwa Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Also inserting the last chorus as the 2nd chorus is just chefskiss. Makes it immediately more dynamic 1
Flanders Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Typical her releasing it on a thursday though. Like either drop it on monday or wait til friday you self-sabotaging hussy 10

Also, the remix sounds much more suited for Urban Radio, wouldnt be surprised to see positive updates on the format in the following days. And Urban Radio is quite literally Beys strong suit and advantage over the other Pop girlies It is struggling on urban especially compared to the other formats (understandably). If urban does pick this up, we should see some huge radio updates. Think its currently #20 on the format so a lot of room to grow.

One thing she deserves some slapping for tho: We will likely not see her perform this remix in the near future. Now THAT deserves some proper southern whooping
swissman Posted April 4 Posted April 4 okay so last night when I heard the remix dropped, I queued up the original before the remix so that I could fully re-experience it before the remix to identify the key differences (not knowing how different it'd be), but I didn't realize I just put the remix first, so I was listening along like...okay, yes, everything is going as planned UNTIL half-way mark when it merged into the remixed part and I WAS SHOOK because I was like how did the start of the song work so well immediately after ... and then I realized she pulled a bait-and-switch-remix, LOVE IT. I love that she brought some 90s R&B/dance into it, and also her vocal production which usually has some gravity to it but here is very light and in the air. 1
Magickarp Posted April 4 Posted April 4 I wish there was a full version of Pony Up I can't listen to the OG Texas, after the Tame Impala mashup. I ripped the YT audio, & it's currently my most streamed song of 2024 I hate the yee haw instrumental of the OG, but the remix is so good once it gets to the 2nd half, that i force myself to listen 1st half I really hope the guy that did the Tame Impala mashup drops the Pony Up version, or else i might have to edit a shitty version myself
Kristie Kuwa Posted April 4 Posted April 4 I think I figured why they went for a Thursday release - they wanted people to check it out so they add it to their party/pregame playlists come Friday and Saturday. Let's see if the plan works out
