What I didn't realize was that she was struggling with being gay. At that time, families didn't talk about things like that. Life was different and it is heartbreaking for me to think about it now. The people she watched on TV didn't represent her. Movies didn't represent her. She thought she was alone. Myzra isn't with us anymore, but I like to think she is proudly looking down from above — the way I always looked up to her.

I think you misread the person's response. With Jennifer Lopez, it's her own movies, TV shows, etc. And she played an actual lesbian, not some fake lesbian poses for the male gaze to get YouTube views.

Nothing against Shakira, but Jennifer has been more outwardly supportive of us.

J.Lo is not just vocally supportive of the LGBTQIA+ community, she also works behind the scenes to tell gay stories through her production work (The Fosters, the movies she does, the songs she makes; "Love Makes The World Go Round", "Tens" and countless gay bops like "Waiting For Tonight”). 
 

And of course privately and publicly supporting her non binary nibling and using the right pronouns for both her nibling and one of her kids.
