Which is the most forgotten win?

Posted

Casey :rip:

Casey, maybe followed by Gary

will smith is not forgotten because of the slap thing but without that it would imo, cause that was the most "award career win" of the decade, and no one really cared about that movie and role.

Gary Oldman btw is there too.  The Academy is  obessed with british politicians and kings and queens for forgettable movies.

Casey, Eddie and/or Gary all could be options, but WOW this category has picked some real stinkers :rip: Cillian and Anthony are really the only ones who delivered worthy performances

As of now, probably Oldman or Redmayne's wins.

But as time passes, hopefully, it's Fraser's win. Absolute shitshow of a film that win should be forgotten and everyone ashamed for making it happen.

It's between Rami, Eddie, Casey and Gary for me but I'm edging towards Rami.

Not Casey Affleck winning when people always say that he was the best winner of the last decade :skull:

definitely Gary OLDman. Casey is not forgotten when he's often referred as the best Best Actor winner this century.

Cassey.

no one think about these anyway :rip:

Like more people would cite that Hemsworth guy in avengers rather than "oh will smith won for king Richard" :rip:

People vote for Casey really know nothing about movie industry.

That is always the frontrunner for the best actor win this century.

Casey Affleck and Anthony Hopkins are frequently cited as amongst the best winners in this category ever, so I don't think they'll ever truly be forgotten because of the cache attached to their wins, and because they were the rare Best Actor winners that played nuanced, complex characters rather than being in cheap biopics or relying on prosthetics to tell a story.

Its probably Gary Oldman. Not only was he someone a lot of people assumed had won already before he actually won (I actually was telling a co-worker that he won the day afterwards, and the co-worker said "really? Another one?"), its just a meat-and-potatoes historical drama about Churchill, which are a dime a dozen. He'll join Brendan Gleeson and Albert Finney as people who won awards for playing Churchill, and that will be all he's remembered for. If he ever gets the chance to win another one, maybe this win will be discussed again, albeit solely in the form of "see, THIS is a deserving Oscar, unlike that terrible Darkest Hour win".

Will Smith.

King Richard as a whole is so forgotten and the slap overshadowed his win. I'm sure some people know about the slap but don't know about his Oscar

It's between Gary Oldman (overdue career win) and Eddie Redmaye (massive campaign win back then, he should have won for the transgender role the following year).

Casey Affleck is not a popular win but he has his fans among film fans.

OLD man

but tbh what has Casey done since his win :rip:
