Certain fanbase wont accept that Taylor doesn't have the most #1 singles and isn't the best-selling artist of all time. She doesn't hold the record for biggest song on radio. She doesn't have the biggest first week sales. She doesn't have the longest-running #1 single and she doesn't have the longest-running top 10 single. She never was the music industry from a commercial point of view. The Swifties only label her that because she lacks a title. Beyoncé literally changed the international release date in the music industry. That alone qualifies her more for the title than Swift. Edited March 31 by BrandNewBrandon
Brooklyn Baby Posted March 31 Posted March 31 The usuals in here mentioning Taylor and other artists when they were not mentioned Yall can't just let this be about Beyoncé... who the thread is about

I really did think she was past her commercial peak when none of her side projects after Lemonade really stuck but she proved us all wrong Same. I remember making a comment a few months ago on Reddit about how Beyoncé is transitioning into a legacy act with Renaissance. I never expected Cowboy Carter to outperform it critically AND commercially but I'm so, so happy for her.

Iaintsorry Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Well duh. She changed the game many times way before act ii - Visual album - Surprise drop - Friday release - Visual film - Black artist charting on Country charts the best part is she is changing the game both culturally and chart wise. She worked hard to get the platform to be able to do this so good for her

Y'all We can celebrate Bey without bringing down Taylor. Bey is definitely Queen and pushing boundaries, but let's not take away Taylor's accomplishments. Taylor is definitely making huge strides in music too. She sells bucketloads of albums and grossed the first billion dollar tour. These are reasons why people say Taylor is the music industry. They both can have claims in their own right. Just because one is succeeding doesn't mean it takes away from the others. I wish yall could celebrate these accomplishments without bringing others down
