Gwendolyn Posted March 28 Posted March 28 (edited) From Forbes: https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffconway/2024/03/28/olivia-colman-reflects-on-her-beloved-career-i-have-been-very-lucky/?sh=26fb04fd6864 Last week, Netflix announced that season three of Heartstopper will premiere in October, so I wondered if fans can expect the return of Colman's beloved character in the much-anticipated new season. Colman said in an apologetic tone, "I couldn't do number three. I couldn't fit it in. I feel awful about that.” She added: "I feel like I was part of one of the most beautiful things I've ever been part of.” I followed up by saying that the world just needs her Heartstopper character to get her own spin-off series or simply to return for a hopeful fourth season. Colman responded, "Okay! I'll have a word. As long as it's booked in advance, maybe I'll be able to do it, yeah!” Edited March 28 by Gwendolyn
Venice B Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Why do actors sign up for long term projects just to do this awful
Lovett Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Such a real shame as I love her in it. But it seems like we'll be getting the emotional scenes between Nick and his mum with his aunt instead.
Mandalore Posted March 28 Posted March 28 No offense, the show was beneath her. Don't know how they got her in the first place. 2 1 12
Gui Blackout Posted March 28 Posted March 28 This sucks, and she was supposed to have such a pivotal scene with Nick this season
blaggot Posted March 28 Posted March 28 ohhhh that beach scene is going to be less impactful probably she was literally the perfect choice to deliver those lines

Johnny Jacobs Posted March 28 Posted March 28 She was varely a few minutes in each season anyway. Love you queen it was great shexdid it to begin with
LikeAChampion Posted March 28 Posted March 28 She shot the first season scenes in a day. I wish she could have done the same for s3. Really wanted that beach scene.

ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted March 28 ATRL Moderator Posted March 28 Isn't her character really important in the plot for S3? This is a shame. 1
Nintendoes Posted March 28 Posted March 28 Good. She needs to distance herself with this awful series 2 4

Not really, it was a small role but very important and functional to the story in portraying a LGBTQ+ supportive parent, she even won an Emmy award for it. 2
Archetype Posted March 28 Posted March 28 I was always surprised Netflix was able to get her. I will say that she easily out-acted everyone despite only have a few scenes. 1 1

She was already involved with Netflix with 'The Lost Daughter' and 'The Crown', both projects which land to her another Oscar nomination and to win an Emmy, if anything it was easy for them to get her and she won an Emmy for this role as well.
