Subzero Posted March 26 Posted March 26 2 hours ago, Curaga said: Wow, now that's a collection! I have ~300gb on my pc, ~20k tracks, and about half of that is from video game soundtracks which naturally have more tracks than a typical album lol. I have maybe ~100 CDs, ~20 records, and bunch of digital releases I've bought from Bandcamp and Qobuz. I have a turntable, but haven't found a good place to set it up in my place, so I just listen to all my stuff via foobar. Yeah it's only because I've been collecting music for like 15 years and built it all up. I used to work at a mall way back and got a lot of free promo albums/cds/singles so I didn't always have to sacrifice my own money. I have a lot of film/tv/video game OSTs too so it definitely bulks everything up especially in lossless format. Plus, I have most of my CD collection ripped. I've bought digital stuff here and there as well if it's not available physically. I've only just started collecting records, I maybe 12 or less, they take up too much space for my taste Ah that's cool, when I move I want to have a big setup and display everything, a lot of it is just tucked away on a shelf or my closet. I love collecting physicals though, it's fun having whatever music I want to listen to at my disposal, streaming isn't always reliable! 1

Saddy Posted March 30 Posted March 30 8 CDs 1 vinyl 1 cassette 2,391 albums and 5,139 songs (on Spotify)
Soda Pop Queen Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I have 8,822 songs currently saved on my Spotify library. I've been building that for 13 years and I also have between 250-300 CDs that I collected from 1999-2016. I was a CD and itunes (and sometimes file-sharing) girl but switched over fully to digital after 2016. I want to get back into collecting one day but it's less convenient than before because the majority of the physical retailers have went belly up, especially in smaller cities. I could order online but buying physicals online is... murky these days lol. I love the convenience of streaming but do miss getting lost in a record store like FYE, Sam Goody, etc. for HOURS. Also, CD audio quality is forever supreme (idc what vinyl heads say).
Glamthony Posted April 1 Posted April 1 i have almost 10K songs on my streaming app, +300 CDs i've been collecting since 1997 and +200 Vinyl records
The7thStranger Posted April 1 Posted April 1 (edited) I'm into the thousands physically. I haven't updated my database in a while, but I'm around 1,500 CDs, 750 vinyl, 50 (?) shellac, and 100 cassettes. Note that I've been an avid record buyer for well over twenty years at this point.
