As per the IFPI, the world's biggest male & female solo artists in the 2020s are…

2020: Drake & Taylor Swift

2021: Drake & Taylor Swift

2022: Drake & Taylor Swift

2023: Drake & Taylor Swift

…so for how much longer do you think is this going to continue? They both have been very popular for well over 10 years at this point, yet their music is still so widely consumed globally.

Aka what or who can break Drake's & Taylor Swift's current grip on the industry?

We have to wait for millennials to age up. Once Gen Z and Gen Alpha are the predominant tastemakers I think we'll get some new voices in the game.

Time. It's the only answer. By 2035 it's gonna be Olivia and some new male artists leading the pack

When they stop releasing music. They are the only artists that release music continuously. They never really took a break.

They stop releasing music, as someone said

they are on a roll atm, and fans are used to that. They will eat everything up.

And even if another artist starts doing the same, Tay/Drake have already done it for so long

that it has accumulated into a much bigger power, so it won't be easy to just push them off the thrones (+they have huge fanbases)

Even if they flop or stop releasing they will stay in the top 10 to 20 of Spotify Artists for a long time. Eminem is not so active but he's still #25 on artist charts and above young streaming forces like Billie and Dua. When you get that big and have a huge fanbase, you will never truly fall completely off.

Abel did drop in 2020 and 2022 tho, and even his huge 2020 wasn't enough to topple Drake. :gaycat7:
