Sabrina Carpenter Posted March 24 Posted March 24 the problem is she just can't pull off what she's trying to pull off 9
Archetype Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Sure, but some artists are known for experimenting with their image and sound. Most of our faves have done this, sometimes successfully, other times complete flop. It's in the nature of being a pop artist.
Letemtalk Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) No one coming from any of those Simon Cowell "X Factor" and similar talent shows feels authentic to me. Artists should be able to experiment with different sounds if they want to. But I'm sceptical about this new image/rebranding. Edited March 24 by Letemtalk
Devin Posted March 24 Posted March 24 shes in her experimenting bag but i dont see this having a successful turnout.
Trent W Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I'll say this without bias Anything she does will be seen in a bad light because people don't like her She could pull an excellent album like Folklore or Renaissance level of quality and people would still give her a hard time People in general don't like her and probably never will
rickycabello123 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Oh my Gosh can yall just shut up, its just a different era. Yall so ignorant
Anomaly Posted March 24 Posted March 24 No. I thought this website wanted pop girls to experiment with other sounds? I think it's just that ya'll simply don't like her.
SleepNoMore Posted March 24 Posted March 24 If it's artist you like, if they change up their look for a new era, you praise their ability to reinvent themselves. If an artist you don't like does the same thing, they're "inauthentic". Again, y'all always do too much. 2 1
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted March 24 Posted March 24 She literally played at Taylor's tour, looked at Charli, planned an era around her and called it a day. Her ******* album name even looks like XCX Anyways she's been trying to cosplay as someone she's not ever since that weird song with Willow from Familia
Dante Silva Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I'm conflicted because before this era, I found her bland but for the first time in her career I find her exciting. It's like she's connected to the electricity supply and hot wired my brain. Everything new about her this era from the music to her image is genuinely resonating and connecting with me in a BIG way. Not only is "I Luv It" actual catnip to me, I respect a gal who is brave enough and has the balls to definitely walk directly over the genre line from mainstream to Alt. When someone comes from and is as imbued in mainstream and corporate music culture as Camilla was, most would fear making a definitive transition. I embrace the changes she has made and I hope it works out for her and she maintains the confidence to stay in this genre and continue to follow this way more exciting, less predictable path beyond this album era.
Princess Aurora Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) I'll judge when the full song is out Edited March 24 by Princess Aurora
dumbsparce Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Rihanna went from black & white to a rainbow in less than a year and both felt like her. Who's to say that CaCa can not be diverse too?
B-Luke Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Well yea Ed Sheeran on Bam Bam felt like a better match last time

Sad Serenade Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Her look's rebranding (the blonde hair) feels inauthentic and also tragic. As the music let's see but If she would come back with another song like Havana to catch the latin audience you all say she's doing the same forver to get that hit. Doing something different is ok.
blueberries Posted March 24 Posted March 24 she is really unlikeable, that's why she'll never be an a-lister
Leptine Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Her previous whole 'latina' brand-imagine was blatantly inauthentic as well and always felt forced, she just doesn't have an artistic identity.

People are already saying she can't pull off whatever she's doing when she literally hasn't released anything new yet... And I don't understand this inauthentic debate. What kind of music would be 'authentic' to her? 1
