Solaria Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Camila is all of a sudden adapting a very niche internet image in the vein of Charli XCX, Rina Sawayama and Carly Rae Jepsen and she is also attaching her name to popular Gen Z artists like Olivia Rodrigo by commenting under their social media profiles. This after the failed attempts of conquering mainstream pop with Romance and the Latin market with Familia. Now she has her eyes on the alt community. Does it feel inauthentic? Discuss. 3
KFC Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Yes, inauthentic, phony and desperate like everything else she's ever done 5 2 7

Popular Post OnikaSlays Posted March 24 Popular Post Posted March 24 A bit, but I'm not sure why anyone actually cares. Artists should be able to have fun and experiment with different sounds, aesthetics, etc. 17
BANKS Posted March 24 Posted March 24 i honestly was never invested in her to begin with so it's hard for me to tell a difference, really… 1
MonsterNavy Posted March 24 Posted March 24 everything about her is inauthentic. she's a try hard quiRkY_ racist
Villas Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) why do ppl always judge when an artist try new things, aren't y'all bored with actual pop scenario? But then someone does a different path and y'all come with same criticisms all again. Edited March 24 by Villas 7
Bad News Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) Kind of, but she needed a rebrand. I admit I'm curious and mildly interested for once. Edited March 24 by NicoleAMatty 1
If U Seek Amy Posted March 24 Posted March 24 For me it's the wanting to be a brand that already exists more than the authenticity. It feels like she just wants to be charli xcx and it's weird 2

The outrage sounds more inauthentic if anything. she's not the first artist to dye her hair and experiment with their sound. we get it you don't like her Edited March 24 by Cult Leader 𐕣𐕣 1
Happylittlepunk Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) She is going to become the discount store brand version of charli-xcx. Edited March 24 by Happylittlepunk
Twizzy Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Camila is a L-double E-CH who is willing to do anything and everything to gain somewhat of an identity in music, while simultaneously still being a faceless artist with no personality. Chasing trends is all she knows how to do. 3 1
PrettyHurts Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) yes. it's a really sharp turn that makes her seem like she doesn't really know who she is as an artist Edited March 24 by PrettyHurts
