Jude Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Finally, a real banger from Miss Ava since The Motto. This is how you elevate a sample, not that cheap ass Whatever. That key change ended me, ugh. I'll be streaming this bop all week. 1

Even if the riff is like 1000 years old, that's still sampling...💀 1
Tistotal Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Of course this is basic and hits hard she always delivers bops
SchmoodRing Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Is the song good? Yeah. Did It need to be great? Yes. Was it? No. Also what in the dollar tree budget was this music video? **** like this is why she isn't bigger. They way they sell her sometimes makes her brand come off as so tacky and cheap. I also agree with other users here. I can't wait for tiktok to be banned because this whole songs under 3 minutes is just not it. There's no room for the song to build up. It feels cramped and rushed. Cause other than that it's your typical serviceable Ava bop. [Verse 1] Retro glamorous, modern fabulous, point your cameras, oh, oh Giving MTV, Bella and Gigi, sippin' on Clicquot, oh, oh Real big energy, radiate outta me, baby, just look at me Look at me, look at me go, oh-oh-oh-oh, woah-oh (Oh-oh-oh, oh) [Chorus] I'm like, "My, oh, my Baby, this my kinda night" Flashin' lights up on my body Feels like '90s paparazzi I'm like, "My, oh, my Baby, this my kinda night" Strangers dancin' all around me It's like straight out of a movie [Post-Chorus] Da-da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da (Da-da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da) Da-da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da (Da-da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da) [Verse 2] I run the table like it's Vegas I'm like Charlie with these angels Taking pictures, feeling famous, oh I feel so Kim and Khloé Ain't no Photoshop, Adobe Walk in like I am Naomi, oh Chorus] I'm like, "My, oh, my Baby, this my kinda night" Flashin' lights up on my body Feels like '90s paparazzi I'm like, "My, oh, my Baby, this my kinda night" Strangers dancin' all around me It's like straight out of a movie [Post-Chorus] Da-da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da (Da-da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da) Da-da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da (Da-da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da) [Bridge] When I walk in It's electric Roll the carpet for me One more time [Chorus] I'm like, "My, oh, my (My) Baby, this my kinda night" (Oh) Flashin' lights up on my body (My) Feels like '90s paparazzi I'm like, "My, oh, my Baby, this my kinda night" (Night) Strangers dancin' all around me (Oh-oh-oh) Feels like straight out of a movie [Post-Chorus] Da-da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da Da-da-da, da-da-da-da, da-da-da, da-da-da-da Da-da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da Da-da-da, da-da-da-da, da-da-da, da-da-da-da Flashin' lights up on my body Feels like '90s paparazzi Like this flows so much better 😌 why couldn't have we just gotten this? 1
babyforlife Posted April 5 Posted April 5 its cute not her best, the post chorus is a let down for me with only contains lyrics da da da da da
CottageHore Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I'm not trying to hate but I swear she's made this song with this sample before lmao. Like truly all her songs sound the exact same during the choruses. Her verses typically smash harder for me cuz they're not sampled. But this so meh
Lady Claire Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Everything about this is so low budget, from the romanian pop type production to the MV I don't hate it but it's not my favorite release by hers and i'm not sure if this is going anywhere but maybe it will. Should've been a bit longer though 1
collin Posted April 5 Posted April 5 The seething Ava Max's music does not require this deep of thought and that's why we like her. 4 5

Kern Posted April 5 Posted April 5 this is why Dua Lipa stans are writing essays now to justify the floppage of her era while we can just play this bop and enjoy it - because it's good! 2 2 1
Shinning Posted April 5 Posted April 5 All her music is cheap and uninspired but this one is the cheapest and most uninspired of all. 3 1 6
Jason's Song Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Some of y'all are so mad for no reason. This has been the style of her music for the ENTIRE TIME. Stop acting surprised now. It's a bop, get over it. 1
BryceG Posted April 5 Posted April 5 With the video, the stuff in the green outfit and against the wall should have been reshot. It looks crap. The rest is great.
Bencharmer Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I love and hate the song at the same time. It's super infectious and catchy.... Yet it's lyrically very basic and clichés. I don't expect Taylor's level of songwritting but she can do way better than that. Hopefully it's the only messy bop of the album. Still a bop tho.
toughlikeglue Posted April 5 Posted April 5 It feels pretty amazing to hear some 2010 dance-pop throwback again. The sample works perfectly here. The video is cute, could've possibly used a storyline or a different location setting. Idk why people are expecting her to put together some kind of experimental Björk-type song or a Mozart symphony. It's just a harmless, infectious BOP that's completely on brand for her. 2
