It just takes one of the still relevant ex-Nickelodeon stars to come forward with their story and this ******* is going down for real. Legal proceedings. Ariana probably has a personal lawyer now on speed dial. They don't want to get sued for defamation, regardless of discovery motions.
Mordecai Posted March 19 Posted March 19 The constant feet references throughout iCarly and Victorious tell you all you need to know

JoeAg Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I'm sure there is a way for Ari to address this with enough nuance that it wouldn't be considered “defamation" and could get the message across to those who know what's currently going on here. in an ideal world, all the nickelodeon ex-acts would be able to say their pieces about how much of a creep this dude is, but unfortunately there's a lot of risk. I can't speak for anyone, so I won't even draft what Ari could say but I do for some reason believe there's a way. maybe i'm just idealistic? idk. I hope everyone's been healing in their own ways, regardless I feel so bad for them dude. I need to read Jennette's memoir soon, i was reminded of it earlier today

Harmonizer Posted March 19 Posted March 19 11 hours ago, AccioMiley said: Not Rider Honestly, some of the young actors were most likely victims themselves. Also, since Drake Bell was a minor himself, no one knew how serious the situation was (not that any situation should have been taken less seriously), but it was inferred that even the parents didn't know because they were removed from the room when the children were notified he was fired. One person even came forward and said that they wouldn't have written the letter today. It's definitely a weird situation and it has opened my eyes to a lot of behaviors child actors don't realize is inappropriate. I don't blame Rider or the other young actors for their letters of support. But shame on any adult in Hollywood that was aware of the full situation and wrote a letter. Hell is waiting. 1
MattieB Posted March 19 Posted March 19 He's lowkey not denying them, he's just saying they all went through the higher ups before being approved, he's throwing them under the bus LMAO 2
DAP Posted March 19 Posted March 19 He didn't even deny it. He only denied that the show had suggestive scenes.

Hopefully they'll spill everything someday. Jennette McCurdy had a highly successful book where she said more than enough about the man, we all understood her clearly. She doesn't need to say anything else. She healed and moved on.

I'm not invested enough in this story nor am I a fan to argue one way or another, but beyond some reporting of anecdotes that seems like a stretch.

Vermillion Posted March 19 Posted March 19 @Aaron A lot's gone down since 2019. I'm not a fan of Ariana's at all or the show, but to act like they're on the same level now? Maybe they are but I doubt it.

Actual rumors mostly tend to fizzle out after a short period of time - not consistently be repeated, added to and crop up again and again over a number of years, decades in this case. It's like when someone consistently blames everyone and everything else for something in their life going wrong, yet they're the common denominator in every single situation they find themselves in. I think these allegations are 100% true. 1

holyground13 Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Him completely shifting the blame Nickelodeon are of course complicit too but it's not just on them
Bhabylon Posted March 19 Posted March 19 This ogre is going down Hope the series inspires some of the more prominent Nick stars to speak up about anything they may have experienced
