rosesbloom Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Quote Q: Who do you think is overrated? Taylor/Beyoncé? A: Taylor is a very good songwriter but Beyoncé. [6:36-6:48] Quote Statement: Taylor & Beyoncé are both overrated. A: Beyoncé, I think so, yeah.. because Taylor actually writes her songs. [7:20 -7:35] Georgina (Honest Vocal Coach) had questions & answers regarding Taylor Swift & Beyoncé. Thoughts?
Brooklyn Baby Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Songwriting is important but is not everything. People need to relax 2 5
Taylena Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Everyone is overated by their stans, ones more than others tho. 1
Weld_E Posted March 18 Posted March 18 There are MANY talented writers out there beyond the music industry, a lot who are much better than Taylor. Whilst there might be many great vocalists out there, Beyonce has proven to be one of the best. What makes Beyonce standout even more is her exceptional ability to execute top notch choreography on top of delivering stellar vocals, and that is very rare to find. 2
Fleahive Posted March 18 Posted March 18 She can’t sing for ****. Vocal coaches are failed bitter people that couldn’t make it into the industry 1

They don’t care that demographic moves the goal post whenever Beyonce is apart of the conversation. When they worshipped Adele it was about vocals and they couldn’t give two shits about the song writing part. Now they switch up since Taylor can’t sing. Edited March 18 by Fleahive 2
SoundsandSongs Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Don't take the bait Hive and Swifties. Both women are talented in what they do and have great longevity despite everyone trying to tear them down for years. 1
dirrtydiana Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Of course she’d side with the one she shares the same vocal range with 1 8
tellem Posted March 18 Posted March 18 There is nothing “honest” about this woman btw she stole some random person’s video and scammed people 1

I know people here like to use "Karma is a cat" as a drag, but I doubt she wrote that to be a song to be taken seriously A good chunk of her discography's lyrics are better written than these two songs. Also most Swifties wouldn't put MIDnights in her top 3 albums, we collectively know that it's not one of her best My initial comment about songwriting was making a point that not every artist needs to excel in songwriting, just like not everyone can be a powerhouse vocalist. Beyoncé, Whitney and Céline are all-time greats and did not write most of their biggest songs Edited March 18 by Taeyong
Anomaly Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Both Taylor and Beyonce are completely deserving of their many successes. But I think in general the importance of songwriting ability for pop singers is way overrated imo. I think it is the least important talent considering it is the easiest to delegate to somebody else. You can’t really delegate vocals. I suppose you can delegate stage presence and the ability to play instruments to an extent by having loads of backup dancers and stage props and bands. But songwriting if needed can pretty much be completely delegated to a faceless person behind the scene and most people would never know. 1 1

Kristie Kuwa Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) Its clear as day she listens more to Taylor instead of Bey, lets just say that. And clearly her take on vocal craft is... limited. A true honest-VOCAL-coach experience Edited March 18 by Kristie Kuwa 1
