AnonnonA Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Oh wow career-best numbers for Kacey honestly was not expecting higher numbers than Star-crossed given the somewhat muted reception to that, plus star-crossed came off the hype of Golden Hour

Støned Posted March 23 Posted March 23 What a tight race! Hoping that Ariana gets it! The biggest surprise is that Lover (#7) is actually outcharting 1989 TV (#9) and Midnights (#12)? How many more weeks till it reaches 52 weeks? I think it can actually surpass Midnights for most weeks in the top 10 if it continues at this rate.

He's used to be big, even Beyonce most successful album looks like a flop compared to his Futuresex/lovesound. I wouldn't say he was MUCH bigger than J.Lo. J.Lo's imperial phase was in 2001-03 where she did J.Lo - J to tha L–O! The Remixes - This Is Me... Then and scored big #1 hits during that time along with being probably the biggest celebrity all in all in 2003-04 but then it started to die down fast. JT, however, had better album sales but celebrity-wise they were pretty equal. In 2003, J.Lo was definitely bigger than him while in 2006 he was definitely bigger than her. 1

He's used to be big, even Beyonce most successful album looks like a flop compared to his Futuresex/lovesound. How was Beyonce's most successful album a flop compared to JT? Lovesounds might have been a more immediate success but IASF and Dangerously had longevity and continued doing well even in streaming era. Total WW Units CSPC: IASF - 21m Dangerously in Love - 19m Lovesounds - 17m last time I checked Spotify streams: IASF - 3.7 billion Dangerously in Love - 2.2 billion Lovesounds - 1.8 billion IASF and Dangerously in Love always outstream Lovesounds so the gap in CSPC will only get bigger. Beyonce has 5 albums, soon to be 6 albums, with more streams than Lovesounds (JT's most streamed album). Edited March 23 by SoundsandSongs 2 2

Klein Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Midnights should be crossing 7M units next week. Lover still stomping. That's two new diamond albums coming before the end of the decade. 1
PoisonedIvy Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I had no idea Kacey did so well, it's absolutely deserved. Hopefully she can maybe pull off that #1
