Will Taylor get multiple number one songs from the same album again?

It's looking that Ariana is going to get 2 songs from the same album debut at number one. Why is without question the biggest artist of our time unavailable to do the same. She hasn't received multiple number ones from the same album since 2015 from the album 1989. Why has it happened since and could it happen again?

I think she can. Ariana having 2 no. 1s this year was not on my bingo card.

It’s super easily to get no. 1 it these days. Even Lady Gaga and Katy Perry can easily get it if they release. Beyonce did.

She could if she wanted it.

Spoiler

She also could if August goes number 1 this August

because LH and Karma are boring songs. the albums before that only had 1 main single. even then, couldn’t you argue that Red and 1989 got additional number ones?

didnt she just do that with midnights :deadbanana2:

am confusion

Change the title to "Multiple #1 songs" to avoid confusion :suburban:

No, she's an album artist. She doesn't need quick little singles to sell :suburban:

The title is a mess, but I'm pretty sure the OP meant an album with multiple number one songs.

Can Ariana get multiple weeks at #1 with her album?

Because Taylor doesn't need to prove anything.

She already accomplishes pretty much everything an artist can. #1s from 1 album is such a filmsy goal post. Especially if the single is gonna freefall or forgotten right after.

Karma was just a few points away from #1 last year (which would've given Midnights 2 #1s), so really it's just down to timing and playing the game. After a #1 lead (especially a smash like Anti-Hero, which, for the sake of comparison with your Ariana point, was a substantially bigger hit than Yes, And), she has little incentive to really push a song to get the #1 other than the prestige of having one, and considering that she's already got 11 of them, I don't think it's a big concern for her (like it was for say, Nicki in 2020). Hell, considering how well Cruel Summer and Is It Over Now? have performed, I'm not totally sure if she'll even make music videos for her singles :deadbanana4:

If she or Drake break Mariah's record :dancehall:

I will officially lose any hope I have in the GP

Karma almost got to #1 but peaked at #2 since the Ice Spice remix was horrendous. Swifties hated it so much that they don't even mass buy the remixes.

How is it easy though? Especially for Katy Perry who hasn't done well musically in years. If it is that easy songs like Houdini wouldve gone #1 given Dua just came from a huge era and smash songs. The recent string of pop girl flops from Love On to Doctor Work It Out etc shows you need the right combination of star power, good relatable material and exposure for a #1.

OT: Taylor could easily get multiple #1 singles if she released them before the album. She took over the entire top 10 with midnights and her non-singles outstream some #1s, there's no doubt about her commercial power.

She will not as long as she keeps prioritizing the interest in her albums. Considering how well it is working for us so far, I don't see her starting to do pre-release singles anytime soon (which is what's needed to get multiple #1s in the streaming era).

She sacrificed multiple #1 hits to instead get the most possible attention to the album
