ChrisTheLoner Posted March 14 Posted March 14 DTF - What went wrong? is the real question you should be asking OP 1
Cheeky Posted March 14 Posted March 14 She's doing very good. Houdini isn't her biggest hit but it's still a big hit. I don't think she or her label expects a Don't Start Now / Levitating / Cold Heart level of success every time. It's not sustainable and most artists would be lucky to have one hit as big as any of those.
Ivan_brit Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Houdini is a hit, 320 million at Spotify & coming for 100 million views at YouTube Region Certification Certified units/sales Australia (ARIA)[120] Platinum 70,000‡ Belgium (BEA)[121] Gold 20,000‡ Canada (Music Canada)[122] Platinum 80,000‡ France (SNEP)[123] Gold 100,000‡ Italy (FIMI)[124] Gold 50,000‡ New Zealand (RMNZ)[125] Gold 15,000‡ Poland (ZPAV)[126] Gold 25,000‡ Portugal (AFP)[127] Gold 5,000‡ Spain (PROMUSICAE)[128] Gold 30,000‡ Switzerland (IFPISwitzerland)[129] Gold 10,000‡ United Kingdom (BPI)[130] Silver 1
DoubleRainbow! Posted March 14 Posted March 14 The lead is doing 3M streams daily after like 5 months Just because it’s not #1 in the US it doesn’t mean it’s not a WW hit 2
Vermouth Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) A lot really. I mean all those millions in the bank, the sponsorship deals with the likes of Evian, Yves St Laurent, Puma, and Porsche, the ability to retire at 28 and live in the lap of luxury for the rest of your days, whilst being Goddess tier beautiful. Poor thing could just choose to flick through the luxury holiday brochures, with her hot successful actor boyfriend, or dedicate herself to whatever causes she’s engaged with free from the attentions of internet keyboard warriors desperate to foreshadow a non existent downfall. Where did it all go wrong eh? edit: after she’s headlined Glastonbury 2024. (Apparently it’s a small gig in a wet field in the west of England, real failure this one) Edited March 14 by Vermouth 1 1
Miley Cyrus Posted March 14 Posted March 14 She associated herself too much with the disco genre. All her music sounds the same. 5
curiousladybug Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Nothing went wrong. She’s about to release AOTY and the person who made this thread will continue being miserable.

Jay07 Posted March 14 Posted March 14 She just doesn't get it. She's pretty and she gets all the writing camp'd hits but the moment she let go of her management and tried to go for something more "artistic" it all fell apart. Did you see that album cover and title? Literally jumping the shark. She just doesn't have the right instincts to be a popstar. 1

Because it’s giving us all a really good much needed laugh, given the exquisite timing of the opening this thread, and hours later she’s announced as a Glastonbury headliner? You couldn’t make it up
Richie.Valdez Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Someone put her in a studio with Max Martin the magic waiting to happen there. Have they collaborated before?
SoundsandSongs Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Dua hasn't even released her album yet her songs are stable - that's a good sign and shows GP is still here. Wait for the album to come at least. Let's not forget Beyonce underperformed with Deja Vu and Ring the Alarm then smashed with Irreplaceable and Beautiful Liar.

If her album is good with a proper banger, salty atrlers will be miserable again. Ariana is way bigger as a celebrity and musician than Dua and has an actual fanbase
Bethenny Frankel Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Houdini was literally still a big hit for the most part
Bussea Posted March 14 Posted March 14 it was funny at first but how many times are we going to discuss this
WeFoundWill Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Y'all saw what happened with Ariana. Y'all know there's a Levitating somewhere on this album
