She's going to get a lot of blowback for this. The media couldn't wait for Janet to mess up after confronting bigotry on a few of her albums, and they capitalised on it. Even pop culture stans have unchecked sexism that contributes to this; look at how Christina is still treated by old gays despite Beautiful featuring trans and other queer youth well before it was considered socially acceptable, as well as confronting sexism with the Stripped album. 

 

Time for popstars to stop being boring and useless, tbh.
