Latin America in July is only possible if she does covered venues, like roof-stadiums or arenas because it's their winter

Yeah, doing them in May seems more plausible. Also, with the recent heat waves in Mexico I don't think an outdoor tour would make sense in July

Great album but nothing about it screams Tame Impala, wish he incorporated currents sound into this album with synths and layered vocals, a missed opportunity…:gaycat6:

Y'all better pray this tour does NUMBERS, that's the only thing that can redeem this disaster of an era

I still want These Smashes and Whatcha Doin (the Bruno Mars remix) to happen tho

I hate when they abandon the era. Believe and stand by your product damn it

I really don't understand the lashings this album is receiving. At this point it's giving bandwagon because this is nowhere near a BAD album. It's not what she promised with this psychedelic pop talk she was throwing (+ the teased visuals) but the tracks still ******* bang for what they are, and they are cute summer bops. She could've served another Future Nostalgia and everybody would've dragged Dua to hell and back for not letting go of the corona'd disco sound but now that she's shaken up things and changed the sound direction, people are still not happy? Misogyny.

Well would you be willing to lose more millions that could be redirected towards a song or artist that is currently smashing and could smash more for your label. Do u stay on a sinking ship ?

This album is bland and the songs are monotonous and vanilla. Its like engineered to be hits yet feel rehearsed, anonymous and overpolished.

I doubt labels spend "as much" as people make it out to be tbh

And also just because you have a machine that mulfunctions what do you do? You leave that one in the dumpster and start all over again investing big sums of money? Or do you spend a bit to fix it and course correct it?

I don't share that opinion of yours. If that was the case many artists like P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen, even Beyoncé would have abandoned their eras the minute their first singles underperformed missinh out on a big smash and a revival.

Of course that was a different era, but abandoning a project the moment the numbers don't match the expectations just gives the impression of weakness and lack of faith in your artist, as well as lack of commitment.

😃😃😃 thanks for shining a light on me. I love how u guys are loving me. That new york times debate/podcast was interesting. Check it out guys you might understand why she's flopping. And they all agree that FN did what it did cuz the songs were better and catchier. She was also fresh back then.not even the uk is supporting her. They moved on from her just like they did rita ora.

Dude, that's soooooo exaggerated lol. She had a #1 not even a year ago, 3 top 10 singles and RO debuted at #1 with the biggest sales for any British female since 2021. She's fine in the U.K. and Europe. Is the album underperforming compared to FN and the expectations we had for it?! Sure, but she's far from becoming a Rita Ora. You guys are soooo dramatic. :rip:

Being a label's flagship girlie can have its drawbacks... perhaps having a consistent studio partner (i.e. Billie + Finneas) would have helped with the quality control

...instead of having the pressure of being tossed around by a dozen different producers and writers, it worked with FN but a time comes when it's too many cooks in the kitchen

They should of streamlined the sessions to just Dua + Kevin for all tracks - lyrics + production

... then maybeeeee call up Danny L for final touches & engineering/mastering, but even that Kevin could of carried

Been streaming it pretty much every day since it came out. To be quite honest, I felt extremely disappointed when I first heard it like tons of other people. Dua said ''psychedelic'', the album is leaning more into the alternative genre. Been loving French Exit, Maria (just like I knew I would when she unveiled the tracklist), End Of An Era finally hit for me a few days ago. I diidn't really get the hype for that song, but Dua proved me wrong. Happy For You is also growing on me a lot. These Walls is fantastic. Falling Forever has been a grower as well. (She sounds incredible) Whatcha Doing has been a grower too. Really wasn't all for it when I first listened to it, but it's getting better every time I put it on. The only skip is Anything For Love. I go to it every now and again just to hear those vocals, otherwise, it's a no-go; too short, it sounds unfinished. The sound doesn't do the album cover justice though. It's definitely shaping out to be a grower, it doesn't hit you instantly, but if you give it a chance, it'll go to that place eventually. Can Dua do better? Yes. I wish she would've marketed it to us differently. I sincerely hope she tours this one first, then get into the studio to make the next one. It's hard to make an album when you're always moving around. It makes sense why the album was made in a few months since she was always travelling from country to country. Overall, great production, vocals are amazing, basic lyrics, but at least they're digestable. It's clear she's still figuring herself out as an artist, so whoever's saying this is a bad album, they've got questionable taste. At the end of the day, listen to what you wanna listen but don't go and spread hate ''cuz you'll get burnt in the end.
