BlueBlue Posted May 4 Posted May 4 (edited) Singles are strongest songs on this album so don't blame them Edited May 4 by BlueBlue 1 1
Post Malone Posted May 4 Posted May 4 @Taylor fanboy we need you to come up with flop nicknames for... ALL the songs 1

For a little positivity, I genuinely think this album is really good. I just don't think they marketed and sold it properly. 2
SayIt Posted May 4 Posted May 4 39 minutes ago, RadioactiveLights said: But yeah, this album will probably get better reception over time. I know it's like a trope among us Dua fans, but she's never really been an "instant hit" girl. Plus, SNL is today. That's going to have an effect for sure. I also suspect that more playlisting will come with time. Also, The New Yorker is stanning. She's truly the most intellectual popstar Thank you for sharing this review and your thoughts Longevity is her thing right now
perpetual novice Posted May 4 Posted May 4 This is an undeniable bomb but it's not career ending. She just released a dud album. She is more than able to just come back better next time she will need to make some quick moves tho… this is a lot like the Sweetener situation
KingWitch Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Anything For Love should've been a pure piano ballad. Its very sentimental and the extra production just ruins it.
BlueBlue Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Dua wasn't big first week seller. Longevity in her career is the key. What they are going to do is the most important part

It could be a really good palate cleanser and if it does well, it gives Dua a classic that isn't a dance anthem; something she doesn't have yet. After it smashes, I think we can give "Maria" a chance then "Whatcha Doing" to close the era. Exactly. I still believe this album can recover, they just need to be really pushy now, get her to perform the songs, literally turn her into Beyonce ca 2006 when Bday didnt start on a good note and then she just performed it relentlessly everywhere 3

What they are going to do is the most important part It doesn't matter. She's not expected to open ala Taylor, but there should be a clear improvement and prove of her status growth and on the contrary she regressed and with abysmal numbers. Both her and her label SHOULD be very concerned. And thag's not being dramatic they should look into this and correct course quickly. She needs to stop fooling around and start taking it seriously. I feel she's gotten complacent with her fase, deals and celebrity life style, but she needs to understand that all of that comes from one place and it's her status as a successful pop star and if she doesn't start delivering that is going to fade very quickly 5

It all screamed bland and forgetful. You're a pop star you have to give us something to work of you want to catch people's attention. I just hope they decide on a single and just push that to the best of their abilities. And she better be performing non stop 1
curiousladybug Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Y'all doing all this when in fact there was a glitch and this number is no where close to the real number. She did much better than reported.

Marla Singer Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Falling Forever could have been brilliant but it just falls short, and I can't put my finger on exactly why. It's still really good but it just sounds like a demo that needed more work. The rest of the album is forgettable, but I do appreciate her keeping it short so it didn't feel like torture to listen to.
Spark Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Why do some of y'all want her to rush release a fourth album? How is that going to help her career? It never works, and if anything it just dampens your legacy which in turn makes you look cheap. She should release a few more singles from this album, maybe do a re-release and a couple of collabs with DJs and tour it early to summer 2025. This is all while writing another album while on tour or in the interim before it starts. She can comeback early 2026 with a new album. 2 1
Wonderland Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I'm not going to catastrophise about the performance of the album, but she needs to book a hit collab and then move to the next era with haste in 2025. It's clear the GP aren't taking up her offerings this cycle.

Y'all are radically optimistic that with these numbers her label is interested in releasing 6 proper singles from an album that has 11 tracks

She hasn't gagged one single time All the looks are boring, while during FN we got amazing looks that garnered online talk and buzz 1

Starkboy Posted May 4 Posted May 4 To be honest, literally nothing after Houdini has been exciting. Weird album title, cover is quite bad, Training Season being a weak single yet they wanted it to be huge, album photoshoot having nothing to do with the singles etc. It's a shame cause this is actually a good pop album. If they had released it months ago it would have performed better. 9
