Aslan Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Abysmal numbers but I've been here since her debut and will stick by her no matter the success of this era. Success stans are free to leave i just hope her team and Warner just don't give up and continue to push through and try and give the fans a somewhat a memorable era. 7
_Fey Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Yeah this was a marketing problem. The album not getting glowing reviews also probably shut out people who might have checked out the album after good word of mouth spread that there's a new Dua album out and it's amazing. She desperately needs to bring a proper management team back. There is a LONG list of things they did wrong. 1

Naikuun Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I really feel like this is a fault of all this hate train that she has been geting, and my god how no one can enjoy music just because it's music, tiktok really burned the brain and dopamine of everyone 4
RadioactiveLights Posted May 4 Posted May 4 (edited) Guys let's not forget: - DL1 massive delays, multiple flop singles - "IDGAF," "Electricity," and "One Kiss" all underperforming in the United States, despite being pretty sizable hits everywhere else ("Houdini" already fits in this category) - "We're Good" and "Love Again" both underperformed yet she was able to bounce back - Dua has always said she's driven and learns from blunders, she's clearly going to watch and see what she can do to improve from this Above all else, the album is solid. It's not better than Future Nostalgia to me, but it's a great addition to her discography. Edited May 4 by RadioactiveLights 10

NumbSoul Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Shame about the numbers, but I hope they learn from this, cause I think what's to blame for the most part is how they handled and sold the era. The lack of performances, the bad MVs, the confusing marketing... Regardless, I'm living for the music and I hope they don't give up on the era, cause some of these songs deserve some shine! Maria, Happy For You, and Falling Forever will be on repeat 2
_Fey Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I wonder what they're going to do now. 💀 Are they going to hope there's a smash on the album waiting to happen? Will they rush out a deluxe version and push a new song? Will she cut this era short and start focusing on DL4? Her team also really needs to take a look at how this era started out with the singles doing numbers above FN era, indicating there was interest in a new Dua era, and the album itself cratered and did much less than FN.

thirdward Posted May 4 Posted May 4 it's so funny bc these walls represents this album way better than illusion for example it's a laid back chill album 2
SpeakNowTv Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Whatcha Doing is the best choice for the next single, such a bop 1
thirdward Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Houdini these walls training season (promo single with pre order) illusion - album release they dropped the ball idk why 1
RadioactiveLights Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I agree that "These Walls" should be the next single for a change of pace. It could be a really good palate cleanser and if it does well, it gives Dua a classic that isn't a dance anthem; something she doesn't have yet. After it smashes, I think we can give "Maria" a chance then "Whatcha Doing" to close the era. 2

bearman Posted May 4 Posted May 4 These Walls has a Post Malone vibe (shout out Billy Walsh) so maybe it can do well on US radio
Cloudy Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Ngl I'm nervous about how things will move forward, this is an unprecedent bomb 1
