Will the TikTok ban mark the end of Taylor’s dominance?

No. Firstly thinking her dominance is solely thanks to tiktok is delusional. Also now that tiktok is banned that entire part of the GP will probably move to reels where taycontent is still available

It’s going to hurt her (and every single artist who’s music has been pulled)

but 190 songs to 178 songs is still 150 more songs than most people’s faves

She has been in the industry for more than TikTok has existed :rip:

it deffo won't end her career

she probably won't get another Cruel Summer moment?

but she has a lot more other promoting methods and strategies at her disposal

she is literally the best businesswoman in music atp after all..

she went from 13 songs doing 1M daily to 10 and from 190 songs doing 100K to 178.

Oh no! How will she ever recover??

she was already dominating before Tiktok even existed

Ridiculous thread. People said her music being pulled last month would hurt her streams and no dice. She’ll be fine.

She was debuting with a million plus before and after TikTok so I doubt it. I imagine we’ll have fewer smaller artists that have a random hit that blows up out of nowhere, though.

Well… I’m not really sure. Once the Eras Tour + the rerecordings end we’ll have TS12 in 2026. But that would mean that most of the streams are gonna shift from her back catalogue to her most recent stuff. I think by 2030 she won’t be doing these kind of numbers anymore

I'd be surprised to see her getting these kind of numbers after The Eras Tour ends. She won't be getting 70M+ streams casually throughout the entire decade lbr.

lol, she has been going strong for 18 years now.  The woman had 2 diamond albums prior to TikTok’s release.  If you think she was dependent on the app then you are simply not paying attention.

No tf. She'll just have less album tracks going viral and resurging like Enchanted and Don't Blame Me did.

We'll have fewer one hit wonders though, like the Mood song and the whole ASTRONAUT IN THE SKY or some ****.

In fact, since the UMG ban, she went from 13 songs doing 1M daily to 10 and from 190 songs doing 100K to 178.

This is false. Taylor's streams have risen in comparison to January (when her music was last available on TikTok). Plus, even if it were true (which it isn't), it would most likely be a result of 1989 TV's release wearing off + the shorter Eras legs at this point in the year. She's still miles ahead of where she was most of 2023, so this will surely be her biggest streaming year ever :gaylorcat2:

She is never dependent on one sm.

You stan Bad Bunny... Your fave's entire career is build based on quick payola hits pushed through social media apps like TikTok... The lack of self-awareness is astonishing:rip:

OT: No, she'll keep going just fine until an eventual decline happens

Uhhh...no. Cause she's going on a 17 year run at this point and not slowing down. If anything, newer MPG's should be terrified at the Tik Tok ban at a higher level than the established acts since that's usually their main way of interacting with fans and getting promo besides IG.

Taylor won't really be affected though. Her fanbase is huge already and buying pure CD's in a time when very few artists can get their fans to buy CD's. And the success of her massive tour has more to do with her already large fanbase than Tik Tok. Taylor Swift and Adele are in a space where they don't even need much promo to sell records. Notice she didn't even drop a single for TTPD yet.

This is just wishful thinking. Ya'll are hoping this will bring Taylor down but, in reality, it will help destroy opportunities for upcoming Gen Z MPG's.

Saying all this when it's still setting up to be Taylor's biggest year in streaming is just crazy. :rip:

Quick little tiktok hit, she doesn't need that.

Looking at recent debuts someone's dominance has already come to a screeching halt with or without Tiktok

That's No Secret. Every Singer slows down commercially after a high

It will slow down everyone's momentum, but Taylor and other established artists like her are far past the point of needing TikTok for continued success.

It’s no secret that TikTok helped boost her streaming stats. In fact, since the UMG ban, she went from 13 songs doing 1M daily to 10 and from 190 songs doing 100K to 178. Will the US ban mark the end of Taylor’s streaming dominance?

that's it? idk seems to me like she'll survive :chick1:
