TROPICUM Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) inspired by another thread i saw today (dont remember which exactly so sorry) Guess what? You just got discovered by a major label and now you must release your debut album. The catch is that the concepts and entire eras of the albums have already been designed by said label. You have the freedom to choose the debut you want… but only one of them will become a SMASH, while the others will TANK. With the wonderful help of ChatGPT, here are your options: Album 1: "Harmony" "Eclipsed Dreams" "Serenade" "Whispers" "Celestial" (Lead Single) "Astral Echoes" "Lunar Lullaby" "Nebula" "Reverie" (2nd Single) "Solar Serenity" "Embrace" "Beyond the Horizon" (3rd Single) Album 2: "Urban Legends" "Cityscape" "Midnights" (Lead Single) "Neon" "Concrete" "Urban Legends" (2nd Single) "Melancholy" "Streetlight Sonata" "Alley" "Skyline" (3rd Single) "Echoes of You" "Rooftop Rhapsody" Album 3: "Whispers of the Wild" "Mystic Prelude" "Enchanted" "Whispers of the Wild" (Lead Single) "Hidden Meadows" "Wandering" "Moonlit Canopy" "Sylvan" (2nd Single) "Echo" "Sunrise " "Aurora" (3rd Single) "Dawn" If you chose "Harmony" as your debut album... Spoiler It debuts with 733k streams on Spotify. Counting all 24 hours. Your lead single was a disappointment, but your second single gained traction enough for the label to give you green light and release the album. You have been shelved as an artist and your fairly new fanbase is dragged to oblivion on Twitter :( If you chose "Urban Legends" as your debut album... Spoiler You released your lead single, "Midnights"... it has a weak start. Not many numbers and while the promo is doing its best it may just not be enough. But then, out of nowhere, the TikTok Icon herself, Alex Consani, uses it in a meme format for her account. "Midnights" goes absolutely viral and SMASHES on all streaming platforms. It goes #1. The rest of the singles follow a similar path and your album gets pushed as far as the label can so the singles can properly smash. Once your album is released, it debuts with 80M-90M streams on Spotify. Your label is happy with you and you may now choose your own musical eras by yourself. Congrats! If you chose "Whispers of the Wind" as your debut album... Spoiler Your lead single absolutely tanks, no noise, nada. Your second single makes some waves around the "newbies" playlists on spotify but not much more than that. Your album is shelved and you are placed in a limbo where you can't get out of the contract but you may not release anything. If you can write, they'll throw you around writing camps and you better pray a hit with your name on it comes out of there. If you can't write, then the label simply ignores you. Did you SMASH or did you TANK? Edited March 12 by TROPICUM

Gladiator Posted March 13 Posted March 13 (edited) I smashed, but I'm gonna include and release Streetlight Sonata as a single next era out of nowhere and it will flop and all of my fans will abandon me. Edited March 13 by Gladiator
