FolkLover1989 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 If they don't wanna judge music , then it's fine don't give reviews and score but this is totally uncalled for. This org didn't review Taylor for long time calling her uncool but reviewed the cover album of 1989. Now , they have problem with Ariana also. Mind you, most of the hip hop and rock artists that are super acclaimed on p4k have talked nothing but against women in their albums. 2
FolkLover1989 Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 I can already see them dragging ttpd cause it will have Joe breakup themes
Jude Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I lost respect for them. Their music review should not be affected by the artists' personal lives. 7 1 1

Specter Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I am so confused Didn't the basement they were run out of collapse already? I heard of the layoffs or something What kind of resilient basement 11
Navyofbadgals Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Okay but the entire review talks about way more than that tho this seemed more like an intro than an opinion on which they based the score on; not to mention ES is literally about this and they’re not shaming her for it 3

Archetype Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Why is this what they reduce each era to? Really? And even if that was the case, is there something wrong with that? Can women not write about the people they date?
Letemtalk Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I guess that knowing the door will close soon, they don't have to suck up to the big name artists and their managers anymore.
Nashe Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Yet a prominent topic on the album is her relationship with the public's perception of her and the impact of it on her well-being. 2
noahfence Posted March 11 Posted March 11 what else are they supposed to write their albums about? melting glaciers? global military conflicts? the surging price of ozempic? 2
Communion Posted March 11 Posted March 11 The review basically shows that many music journalists' poptimism goes out the door the moment a female pop singer finds herself with an unsavory PR image. Cause the review actually feels overall positive yet mostly ..slight? There's more time giving backstory to her career and image leading up to the album while the criticisms presented are just surface level? Like not being impressed with rhyming therapy and codependecy?
Kiss It Better Posted March 11 Posted March 11 i mean didn't they give rihanna's unapologetic low score just to talk about her relationships instead of the music, like if you want to talk about celebs' relationships just be a gossip page not music reviewers page

ATRL Moderator bluebirdsforever Posted March 11 ATRL Moderator Posted March 11 That tweet is saying a very different thing to the actual sentence in the review It's also not a drag considering the very next sentence is praising the album for doing what the sentence describes
