Instantly Mariah with the angelic vocals and powerful pen game, especially during her prime. She just wasn’t a dancer but it isn’t necessary when you can stun a crowd with your voice alone. 

 

Nowadays, I’d say Ariana. Very reminiscent of Mariah in her prime. I am even more confident making that statement after looking at ES credits.

good singer, great performer, plays piano and writes all her stuff and clear artistic vision.

 

I’d also say Beyoncé in recent years: putting self titled, lemonade and renaissance back to back is crazy. You can say what you want about her not being a “writer” but she clearly is the artistic director and is able to establish an incredible final product. also the reinventions through the albums. not to mention she’s an amazing vocalist and one of if not the best performer of our time.

Beyonce is there to but she can't write songs nor create music or play instruments, also her acting hasn't made any noise.

- Singing

- Writing 

- Producing 

- Acting

- Performing 

- Playing multiple instruments

- Delivering a clear artistic vision  

- Dancing (obviously better before her debilitating Fibro diagnosis) 

- Directing MVs (before all the girls starting doing it, at that) 

 

She can do it all & is in a league of her own when it comes to talent. No one from this generation is seeing her in terms of BREADTH of talent & the COMMAND of so many disciplines.

Stans are voting for their faves in here, but there's no other artist with all-time great vocals and songwriting/producing. That alone makes her the top of this list.

 

Gaga is mostly a master of none. Above-average vocals, horrific songwriting, usually good acting, average dancing, fantastic performer.

In terms of well-rounded-ness, Lady Gaga (pre-2011 musically), Beyoncé, Madonna, and Janet Jackson are above and beyond with concept creation, choreography, and maintaining the brand of a singular, reclusive, creative genius willing to collaborate with other creatives to improve the overall package. In this group, no two albums sound the same.

 

The others rest on their laurels and it shows in their projects.
