Confused as to why people here are pretending a 165K debut is good/solid...

Because it is in 2024.

An artist of her caliber doing these numbers is yikes. I need her stans to stop getting brave about Taylor tho. These numbers should definitely humble them

I’m not sure why they think she’s on the same lever as Taylor, it’s quite embarrassing

She's more talented than Taylor though so hopefully that will help them sleep

Very middle of the road for Ari. Her streaming debut was good, but I expected closer to 200K after such a big push for pure sales.

The fact that you were the first person who thought it wasn’t clearly says something

Ok numbers, hoping they're estimating on the conservative side since it's still early though. Let's see how the album holds through the week; curious to see if the SNL performances can help move the needle a bit and get her to 200k

Horrible numbers tbh

i truly thought her having 7 vinyl variants would secure her that 1M+ debut :snowman:

Girl shut up.

It’s unfair to compare literally anyone to Taylor. These are decent numbers for Ari.

More talented and her music outcome has less streams/sales/awards/critic acclaim and it seems like nobody want to see this talented artist performing in a stadium

I will choose to stay less talented :suburban:

it'd be the biggest debut of 2024 and we're almost halfway into March, so... in this sales climate it's good. it's the same as her previous album, so for her standards she's doing well.

TRAGIC numbers but I love the album so I don't care. I guess since she's being hailed as the second most succesful female artist after Taylor Swift I was expecting better numbers? I mean even Nicki did better but it's still too early to tell she won't crack 200K atleast. Taylor will probably do close to 2 million with her next album while Ariana, the Queen of Streaming is barely cracking 200K.

That's nice, Ari :clap3:

165K is decent. Ariana has never been a huge album seller so why are people acting different? These numbers are par for the course for her.

she will rise to 200k based on my streams alone :clap3:

The truth is that Ariana has very low standards for albums. Sweetener and tun are her only albums to debut with over 200k and those happen to be her only albums that benefitted from bundles.

YT did 138k, ME 169k, DW 175k, positions 174k. Realistically sweetener would have done about the same, maybe a little bit more, without bundles. People just thought tun was the norm for her when it was an anomaly, even if it wasn't comparable with most MPGs peaks

How is this a "solid" performance when her colleague(s) are doing 10 times as much numbers?

Pretty lukewarm numbers, but consistent.

I can't believe Oinka pulled bigger numbers than Kanye AND Ari. :deadbanana4:

Maybe for someone like Dua or Olivia. An artist of Ariana’s caliber doing less than 200k is not good and y’all know it

Welp, her talent didn’t motivate the girls to go out to the stores to buy the album. Taylor has the talent and sales to back it up

HOMEWRECKiana could never
