JO1s Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Also I’ve found people who try to hard or tell people to grow up are usually the most immature and miserable people. 3 1
Hobbes Posted March 9 Posted March 9 She’s not wrong, but it’s such a boring and predictable comment from the chronically outrageous and outspoken Miss Margolyes. 1
Suilen Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Normally I don't support the attitude that at some point you should grow out of liking something, but it's about Joanne's source of wealth, and the quote is kinda funny, so 5 1
wildsidenormani Posted March 9 Posted March 9 whack them again for me granny. the same thing can be said about disney adults 4 2
family.guy123 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 She’s right. I find that people who say people like this are secretly miserable are just pressed because they see the truth in what she’s saying. 1 1 6
Trent W Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I’m not a fan of HP but damn let people enjoy things There is nothing wrong in enjoying things that made you happy as a child I can’t stand the “grow up” crowd, they are often the most miserable people in society 2 3 1
LadyDiana Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Um Miriam, chill. I don't care about HP or this woman, who in fact according to her short wiki page had a role in it. Everytime I see her vids, not by choice, she's talking **** about the others?! Like why?! HP fans are really harmless

Graves Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Hm, I don't agree with this take but I do approve of dunking on Harry Potter... 1
teresaguidice Posted March 9 Posted March 9 (edited) lol its grinch'd i know but i really do hate "let people enjoy things" culture. it has made popular film and music so bad for the most part. its okay to cry cringe at corny taste! Edited March 9 by teresaguidice 4
Rev8 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 If they aren't hurting anybody, let them enjoy it altho I think that specific thing should be avoided cuz it just gives money to its Transphobic creator. 1
Witnessed ET Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Miriam is hilarious and she’s very direct and sarcastic most of the times, but she needs to turn it down a notch here because people like what they like. Harry Potter started out as children’s, but as the books progressed, the subject matter became darker and darker and the kids grew up with it. There’s a reason it’s so engrained in peoples minds because you could get lost in that world, there’s so much detail in every aspect of HP. We might dislike JK for being trash but she really created this world that people could escape to and also broaden their imaginations along the way.

Of course person with Kubrick (worst) movie avatar would be this pretentious
orange22 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 She didn’t say you couldn’t like it but she said some of yall are doing the most 1
prézli Posted March 9 Posted March 9 A Harry Potter wedding sounds weird, but yeah, it's nothing wrong about stanning. 1
Mean Trees Posted March 9 Posted March 9 When I see Harry Potter references brought up in regards to politics, I shudder. Literally, read another book! 1
John Slayne Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I used to be a massive potterhead but JKR has soured the series for me so much. I understand that some people are able to separate their love for HP from JKR's vile transphobia but I do find throwing Harry Potter-themed wedding and parties very awkward given the context. It's fine to have nostalgic memories and enjoy things, but let's not give clout to intellectual property owned by an obsessed bigot. 3 1

Literally, read another book! preferably a book that has actually progressive politics, not one where the main character's dream is to literally be a cop 1 1
Da Vinci Posted March 9 Posted March 9 What about all the old boomers who went gaga over The Force Awakens with talking aliens, cute robots and space cowboys for kids? Avengers? Disney live actions and Broadway shows? Barbie? Mario? etc. Idk why things "being for kids ONLY!!!11" is such an issue for some people, should people just like things strictly based on their age? What kind of films or shows would each age group even cover?
Katamari Posted March 9 Posted March 9 (edited) It is weird to want professor sprout at your wedding I agree with that part she’s funny tho Edited March 9 by Katamari 1 1
