Michael196 Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Pop Airplay: She tallies her record-extending 13th leader on the list as “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From the Vault]” ascends to the top of the March 16-dated ranking. Following Swift, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Rihanna each boast 11 Pop Airplay No. 1s. Adult Top 40: Concurrently, Is It Over Now? takes over at No. 1 on Adult Pop Airplay (which reflects plays on adult top 40 stations). It becomes Swift’s 12th No. 1, the most among soloists and second overall only to Maroon 5’s 15 (dating to the chart’s March 1996 start in Billboard’s pages). Adult Contemporary: Cruel Summer tops the chart for a seventh week, which became her 9th No. 1, the most for any artist that debuted this century https://www.billboard.com/music/chart-beat/taylor-swift-is-it-over-now-number-one-pop-airplay-chart-1235627287/amp/
The Music Industry Posted March 8 Posted March 8 But but but what about the radio formats in Poland, Serbia and Liechtenstein? 8

Is it really that surprising that pop radios are picking it up...? Edited March 8 by The Music Industry 2 7

woohoo Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Cruel Summer lasting possibly two summers. Unless the TTPD lead kills it.
Trent W Posted March 9 Posted March 9 This woman has effectively killed radio ageism against female popstars

Poland is one of the biggest music markets in Europe, especially in streaming and radio. So it's not insignificant as evident by the fact that it's basically a MUST country to visit on a world tour so you mocking that showcases your lack of knowledge putting it together with way smaller markets. And she's doing fine on radio with Cruel Summer there. Peaked at #8 from what I know. Edited March 9 by BrandNewBrandon 2

It's when she crosses 40 that it kicks in (or kicked in in the past). So Beyoncé probably is the one killing radio ageism if anything.

Nos discrediting Bey cause it’s obviously more impressive at her age But it was always the legend of a female popstar passing 30 and not getting airplay 3

Whitney, Mariah, Kylie (with Can't Get You Out Of My Head), Britney, Shania Twain had her biggest hits in her early 30s, Miley Cyrus turned 30 before Flowers, Janet was in her 30s when she was scoring huge radio hits, Madonna all throughout the 90s, Celine Dion had many big hits when she was 30. You are totally wrong with this. It has always been 40. 30 would've meant like 5 years of hits for most women if that were the case Edited March 9 by BrandNewBrandon 1

No, it's not. From the MPGs: Madonna scored 18 top 10s and five #1 singles in her 30s. Mariah Carey scored 8 top 10s and five #1 singles in her 30s. Celine Dion scored a #1 and another top 5 single in her 30s. Whitney Houston scored eight top 10s and a #1 in her 30s. Janet Jackson scored three #1s in her 30s. Adele scored a #1 smash in her 30s. Kylie Minogue scored a top 10 hit in her 30s. Katy Perry even had a hit in her 30s. Rihanna scored a recent #2-peaking and record-breaking radio launch in her 30s. So you're wrong. It has always been that once a pop girl turns 40 it's getting hard for her to score a hit: https://www.reddit.com/r/popheads/comments/e24h41/why_are_seasoned_female_artists_over_40_having_a/ There's a reason each and every single one of them I just mentioned that turned 40 can't produce a hit (except Madonna). Taylor is at an age where she's not too old for radio yet. You need to do some research.
