Gelato Posted March 1 Posted March 1 And do you think you could withhold the scrutiny that people in public life face? Let's talk
BrandNewBrandon Posted March 1 Posted March 1 I can now but I couldn't when I was younger. So being in the public eye when very young must be so hard considering everyone is judging you, good or bad. The Bieber and Culkin's must've had such a hard time so young in show-business. It takes time and at one point you're mature enough to understand your flaws and faults and work on them. When you're a kid you won't. 1
tost1 Posted March 1 Posted March 1 (edited) It has a lot to do with your confidence and I'm actively working on mine. A great sentence I once read that's always in the back of my mind is Confidence is accepting your current reality Edited March 1 by tost1
Bussea Posted March 1 Posted March 1 yes. but only if it’s actual CRITICISM and it’s not mean spirited. there has to be some tact behind it 5

schnetzka Posted March 1 Posted March 1 I am okay with constructive criticism but cannot handle just flat out criticism without proper solutions to problems.
SoulKiwi Posted March 1 Posted March 1 No and that’s why I need the downvote option to be removed from all my posts 1
John Slayne Posted March 2 Posted March 2 yes, it's a part of my job. however, there is a big difference between criticism and insults. most people in public life face A LOT of insults rather than genuine criticism
bad guy Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I have to be able to for my job/future endeavors in order to learn and become the best at what I do. At the same time I have no problem pushing back with an alternative that I think works better, or explaining my reasoning on things. How they respond after that is how I know they're actually criticizing me in good faith or not. But I only accept criticism if I actually respect you or if you are genuinely better at something than I am. Because that actually has merit. If you suck at your job or don't practice what you preach that criticism should be taken to a mirror.
