AMIT Posted February 29 Posted February 29 (edited) Tourism exists as a industry driven by profit, so yes, of course it is. People going off about ''society'' ''humanity'' ''life'', while I do see where they are coming from, are missing the point. The root cause of the problem is in the (capitalist) system, not in ''society''. And no, they are not one and the same. Edited February 29 by AMIT 1
ohwow Posted February 29 Posted February 29 i mean kinda, but it could be way better if there were mass electric bullet trains (powered by renewable energy) connecting the major cities of the world that could minimize air travel to necessity-only which humanity could already be at if not for greedy rich men hoarding its wealth and progress 1
Bencharmer Posted March 4 Posted March 4 When you know taking one ticked to go Bali is more polluting then one year of meat consumption for one average person..... 1
Navyboy20 Posted March 4 Posted March 4 At this point, basically every human activity is bad for the environment.
needs Posted March 4 Posted March 4 I don't know, but I do know travelling to certain places is just gauche. When Hawaii was still struggling badly with the pandemic and people were travelling there, I mean come on. There's some places that are just better off without tourists and their antics.

Just looking at how many sad, forgotten seaside towns we have in the UK that used to be such a hive of activity is kinda depressing. Cause it's often cheaper to get a plane ticket to Milan or Marrakesh than a train ticket to Whitstable or Plymouth. Same for accomodation 1
