At the same time, it's crystal clear that Atlantic has pivoted strategy with Cardi and they are all collectively playing it smart. Rather than dropping $2 milli videos that almost have to smash to be profitable, skewing low-key with this and pushing it in an "organic" (less $$$ splashy) way is a much smarter use of her budget. Calling it a "Freestyle" gives her wiggle room too; if it smashes, she did it with a "Freestyle" (a win). If it doesn't, it's just a "Freestyle" (also, a win). I'm down for her going more the Tomorrow 2 route (in terms of less glam) to rebuild her stock and be ready to pounce with her mainstream bops with her momentum is back where it needs to be.
