Gaga: “Art and Capitalism can be friends”

I don't mean to be blinded here, but I will softly give her the benefit of the doubt here and hope she maybe chose the wrong wording and meant it in the context that capitalism can be moulded to better fit artist and consumer needs? :skull: Because looking at capitalism in general, isn't that the overall goal?

Because capitalism is something that will now always exist in the modern world, the problem we have now is that the divide between high capitalist earnings and public consumerism availability is at a greater divide than it's ever been before.

Artists and musicians throughout history relied on wealthy patrons to produce art so this isn't a particularly controversial statement to make...?? Even if we're talking about today's consumer capitalism, we celebrate artists who can continue to generate their art because of capitalism.

I hate to tell everyone here but all of your faves are pro capitalism. Hollywood and entertainment only exists in its modern form because of capitalism.

She’s right, most high-end art is just a tax write off for the rich nowadays

The fake outrage here as if any of our faves would give us their music or would let us go to their shows for free

They are a brand, of course they endorsed capitalism

If by art she means “her face,” and by capitalism she means “numerous cosmetic procedures,” then I agree.

I mean she’s right

And before anyone comes for her the entire concept of pop girl is probably the biggest example of capitalism

Imo you can’t be a true socialist and stan and consume a pop girl

Is kind of contradictory
