Jack! Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) I don't mean to be blinded here, but I will softly give her the benefit of the doubt here and hope she maybe chose the wrong wording and meant it in the context that capitalism can be moulded to better fit artist and consumer needs? Because looking at capitalism in general, isn't that the overall goal? Because capitalism is something that will now always exist in the modern world, the problem we have now is that the divide between high capitalist earnings and public consumerism availability is at a greater divide than it's ever been before. Acidus Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Artists and musicians throughout history relied on wealthy patrons to produce art so this isn't a particularly controversial statement to make...?? Even if we're talking about today's consumer capitalism, we celebrate artists who can continue to generate their art because of capitalism. 7 1 2 2

Popular Post 4th Time Around Posted February 28 Popular Post Posted February 28 (edited) The endless hawking of makeup on her social media to the point it feels like the page of some company, selling out to advertise medication and now this. What is it going to take for you people to see she is clearly into naked capitalism and makes no effort to hide it anymore. I still love her music but I have fallen out with her on a personal level, she no longer feels different from any other celebrity who presents themselves as a product. She jumped the shark a long time ago in terms of that special connection with her fanbase. Edited February 28 by 4th Time Around 13 4 2

Legend ReX Posted February 28 Posted February 28 If by art she means “her face,” and by capitalism she means “numerous cosmetic procedures,” then I agree. 1 4 1 13
Trent W Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I mean she’s right And before anyone comes for her the entire concept of pop girl is probably the biggest example of capitalism Imo you can’t be a true socialist and stan and consume a pop girl Is kind of contradictory 11 3 2
