Katy is quite literally the anti-brat as that one publication said. It would make zero sense and would not fit any of the songs. It's all delusion and speculation based on that shirt she wore.

Give us Caroline, Chappell, Rosalia, Sega, or Marina :eli:

Gaga would eat on a Club Classics remix btw :clack:

Super late to the party but I finally listened to the album in full. I absolutely love it but much like every other Charli album, I feel like it's a collection of brilliant ideas and catchy hooks but when turned into full songs they sound unfinished. It's almost like she run out of ideas to complete some of the songs so she put the whole thing on loop and added some yeah yeah aaaahs in the back.

Like, Apple and B2b are top 2 songs of the year but there was soooo much more potential there if she found a way to turn them into traditionally structured songs but still kept them fully hyperpop. I found myself only wanting to listen to most of the songs up until the 1:30 mark and then I had to replay them a couple of more times to get my full fix.

I mean given that practically every song on the album is like 2 minutes long it's not really surprising these songs feel so barebones. I think simple repetition has been an mainstay of Charli's music for a while ("lock it, lock it, lock it, unlock it," "I got it, I got it, I got it, I got it, I got it," "I like, I like, I like, I like, I like everything about you," etc.), and historically that's worked really well for her, so I can't fully explain why songs that employ similar tricks like B2B and Talk Talk do nothing for me this time around. I do think the short runtimes don't do the songs any favors — especially the more repetitive ones — because they never end up going anywhere. It could be that I'm outgrowing Charli, or it could just be anhedonia — who knows. I'll have to ask my psychiatrist for a new antidepressant prescription before trying to give the album another chance.

OT: weren't there rumors since before brat even dropped that Charli and Troye were going to do a song together? It seems like that would be the most fitting final remix (perhaps with Shygirl too?).

Apple outro is heavenly and B2B is a classic club track, so repetition makes sense.

Not one song on this sounds unfinished.

After Gaga using the Von dutch audio for a tiktok, then commenting on a 360xBad Romance mash up and this I feel like she might be on the remix album (or Charli will be on Gaga's, idk).

Why are we confused @Sazare ? Talk to me baby, the confused emoji reaction is so whack, especially when the comment is quite clear.

My 64 year old Mum just asked me if I know what Brat summer means and who Charli is :bibliahh:

This album is truly a cultural moment and I'm not even a stan.

Where did the rumor about a Katy remix come from? Like be real for a second, It would literally kill the era on the spot :rip:

It's so crazy to think the nowdays Charli is bigger than Katy Perry in charts

if someone told me that in 2014 I would laugh to death

I'm "confused" as to why you're all getting extremely defensive over even the most mild of critiques. :rip: Someone thinking the album sounds unfinished or undercooked is not unreasonable, whether you agree or not. There's no need for these cunty quips in response.

And moreover, clinging, even flippantly, to Metascores is so obviously silly — like, these scores are determined by Condé Nast subsidiaries and their editorial teams of Bard College graduates, not musicologists at Juilliard or whatever. The publications on Metacritic would barely have paid brat any mind even 5-10 years ago (as evidenced by the fact that other albums of Charli's are in the 70s), and the fact that you're now flaunting this album's score is, by extension, validating the lower scores that it's given her (and others') other albums. Really, when people cite their faves' metascores it just reeks of desperation for external validation of their own tastes. Just form your own opinion instead of outsourcing it to, like, "The Skinny Magazine" and its ilk.

Anyway. I write all this only because you asked. Ultimately: idrc all that much.

OT: I hope the last remix is good!!! The Katy rumor is obviously false, not sure why anyone would believe that. It's 2024, sisters.

Isn't that Pop Tingz account known to post BS rumors for clout? I refuse to believe that Katy and Charli collab is remotely real. Charli is too chronically online to not know about the Katy hate train going on right now :rip:

I have a feeling we're getting the 365 remix with Shygirl next. It's literally on the verge of charting on the Hot 100. And since it's been anticipated since the first Boiler Room set, I'm sure that Charli will give it its time to shine.

Why didn't she do a. BRAT tour??????? I can't believe we're just getting the Troye joint tour :deadbanana2:

I saw her when she toured for the CHARLI XCX alberm and it was soo much fun

That's fair but it was also just a joke, hence the /s at the end. Metacritic means nothing yet a lot, no matter we like it or not.

Anyways, im ready for the next remix. Bring on another MOMENT maam

Im a bit confused,  where is the BRAT tour?

She could have sold out arenas all over US and Europe

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I want artists that are gonna do something other than just be another voice on a remix (my issue with most pop girl collabs tbh). I'd personally love something like:

Club Classics ft. Tommy Cash (AG Cook Remix)

Rewind ft. Uffie

Talk Talk (Yasutaka Nakata Remix)

Spring Breakers ft. Ayesha Erotica
