I mean I get what he’s saying

different jobs you’re always multitasking and with streaming you’re on the computer for hours at a time slowly losing your eyesight

But obviously being a streamer is a lot better than other jobs ppl have to do

Uhm...what about office jobs where you're literally sat at a pc as often as a streamer for much less money? Lol

I understand that social media/streaming being your main source of income comes with its own struggles (much like any other occupation - I refuse to call it a job) but how many times have you heard a salesperson or someone who works in an office say "I'm taking a break for my mental health", "don't know when I'll be back but I love you" and still be well off?? Exactly. These people can vanish from their "job" at any moment bc they can afford to and face close to zero repercussions if they come up with a mellow excuse, therefore what they do is not a real job. It's an occupation that pays well, let's just call it that.

Just like anything there are layers to everything and “streaming is or isn’t hard or demanding” isn’t black and white.

i lived with a full time streamer for many years and yeah, almost drove her to k wording herself. :rip:

Totally agree! It's mentally exhausting.

During covid lockdown I had to do livestreaming lessons (not Zoom) for my private school as part of their marketing plan, and after a few months of weekly streams I felt like k-wording myself too :deadbanana4:

We already have Youtubers quitting due to burnout. I'm sure in the next few years we will be witnessing Twitch streamers having full-blown mental breakdown in real time too

Yeah there were so many things I never considered, I thought she was lucky at first but quickly realized I would never want to do it. :rip:

she ended up quitting for an office job because it was more reliable and less stressful :deadbanana2:

People low to say social media is not a real job but it’s so much pressure to hold the public attention or else you can completely lose your source of revenue. Most social media personalities never even last. Real jobs offer so much more stability

Many steamers have talked about how demanding it is to make content. This isn’t new, and it’s certainly not an uncommon opinion

The left has problems, sure… but have you seen what the girls on the other side are doing? Waaaaaaaay more concerning…

 :suburban:

And whilst he’s annoying at times - ya’ll can’t take away this man’s good looks.

Oh that goes without saying-- certain parts of the left would rather open fire on their team than the right though...

Well, what he's saying is true. Most average "successful" streamers make less money than a minimum wage job. And the hours are horrid.
He's just very lucky few who made it to be mega successful.

he's being ignorant by putting down other jobs, but streaming is also a job with its own challenges. he's one of the lucky ones because he at least makes good money doing it but a lot of online work can be very precarious. every job has challenges, some more than other, there's no reason to have a d*ck measuring contests about who has it harder
