If he did not care about his song's performance he certainly would not have done this amount of promotion and that media tour. While he has an established career and you're right about touring being the main source of $$$ these days, it's completely delusional to pretend that he does not care or that he is doing good even for someone who debuted 20 years ago. If any female artist was performing this poorly you would be dragging her. It's no exception that an artist whose solo debut album came out 22 years ago isn't able to smash or have a hit song anymore. He's turned into a legacy act and will be selling moderately or downright flopping while having big worldwide tours.
