Chiidish Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I was told that this would be a smash success and that Disney can learn from Netflix how to make a proper adaptation though…what happened ??? 5
Revolution Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Another panned adaptation... We have already seen this show. Why would we need to see it again in real life? Make something new. 5
Mandalore Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Not everyone can do what One Piece did But seriously, reaction on social media seems to be positive from fans of the animated show? Haven't seen it yet so I'll reserve judgement.
Timeless Posted February 22 Posted February 22 True Avatar fans will wait for the REAL content that is coming in 2025 by the original creators themselves 6
PillowCase Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I don't understand what collider wants to say with their review: Spoiler What weakens the show can be improved on. Longer seasons could help in the future, but what might help Avatar: The Last Airbender more is if the producers are not so precious with the source material. In what way is it precious?
Odette Violet Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I mean the fans and new fans are liking it base on social media reaction as I've see so far The critics can step aside this time
Daddy Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Loved the OG series. I'm on episode 2 of the new show and it's perfectly fine so far. 4

Alaska. Posted February 22 Posted February 22 What's the point of remaking a perfectly good show besides banking from a nostalgic audience? Fantasy stories always work better in an animated format anyway
LustSpell Posted February 22 Posted February 22 (edited) The second the original writers left saying literally nothing I knew this was going to be a FAILURE from the get go. Also, once again, not everything needs to be f ucking live action. Leave one of the best animated shows of all time as an animated show. Edited February 22 by LustSpell 3
Price of Fame Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I mean anyone who thought this would be good after the original creators left was being silly
Khal Posted February 22 Posted February 22 (edited) I will continue rooting for the downfall of live action adaptations until we (hopefully) learn that animation is a valid medium and sometimes, let's just leave it as it is. Let the "cartoons are for children" morons suffer. Edited February 22 by Khal 4
Illuminati Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I expected it when I saw the first images of the costumes I mean yeah this one is a lot more true to the original show but it's giving cheap cosplay.
Broken Posted February 22 Author Posted February 22 RT: 67% (-1) It's going DOWN, I'm yelling timber.
visions Posted February 22 Posted February 22 People are wayyyy too precious with their nostalgia. The original is such a big part of my childhood and one of my favourite shows of all time. Yet I’m still enjoying the show for what it is. The world building is great and I think the bending looks good too, no matter how many pretend graphic experts online tell me otherwise. I am disappointed with the fire nation girlies the most so far but I hope they grow into their roles… 2
UnusualBoy Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I mean, as long as the fans love it, I doubt Netflix will care about the critics.
Stegeo Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Just now, UnusualBoy said: I mean, as long as the fans love it, I doubt Netflix will care about the critics. Indeed, but the audience scores aren't that good either so far.
kellebrity98 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 again the 60 year old critics giving the show negative reviews like they did it with Hunger Games (2023). original ATLA fan here and the show is 10/10. Actors, storyline, visuals are all on point. No one gives a **** about critics, the views decide. I knew everyone will cry about it as they always do with everything. 2
Gorjesspazze9 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I’m gonna watch it this weekend when I have time off work. But omg, is it actually bad?
