tili33 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 is J.Lo the proof that no matter how much you promote when nobody's waiting for your new music you'll flop anyway...
Mitsouko Posted February 21 Posted February 21 She’s living proof that no one gives a **** about J.Lo music 1 13
prézli Posted February 21 Posted February 21 She did zero promo in Europe (okay, the movie exists, but), and she will debut higher in the UK than in the US.
Into The Void Posted February 21 Posted February 21 It doesn't really matter shes already a legacy act and can do tours and residencies. Her music flopping doesn't change that 6
Distantconstellation Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Explain to me with receipts where her UK promo is? show me now. Hurry i'm waiting.
shoganai Posted February 21 Posted February 21 She’s stunningly beautiful and will do good as influencer and celeb (like she has been doing in these years), music is just not her field and that’s okay
mike_int Posted February 21 Posted February 21 It would matter if the songs were actually good and as a J.Lo fan I have to say I'm disappointed in the album. 2
Afterglow Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I think she's a clear example of how social media can really hurt careers. The whole stealing voices/songs, bad attitude and lack of quality in her music going viral constantly isn't favorable for any music career. 10
alfonso12 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I wouldn't say the cause is that nobody's waiting for it but the fact that music isn't good, cause I think even if people wasn't wait for it, the would consume it if they liked it after being promoted, but her music sucks. 1
HardBambi Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Maybe the promo worked on her movie and her profile but it didn’t work on the music because it’s not in trend at all with what’s popular now, it’s slightly cringe too about their lovestory, it’s just not good unfortunately, but I do admire her anyway for being honest through her music, this is really her now, beautiful but musically boring and dated. Don’t kill me JLovers 1

People will argue social media has no impact, but she’s unfortunately not taken serious on it and it affects her career
Yudelkis Posted February 21 Posted February 21 She's the living proof that you can rebound, rebound, reeeeeeebound ! 3
alexrex Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Let's get real for a moment... The album is not good. Jlo doesn't have a real fanbase that supports her. And she is nowhere to be found on Gen Z radar. So who's gonna stream her album? 3
Mke1979 Posted February 21 Posted February 21 She needs to work with DJs, such as Marshmello, David Guetta, etc. 1
Dante Silva Posted February 21 Posted February 21 If she had put a new twist on what she’d already done before and came back with music and an evolved image presenting her from a different angle then her campaign might have been more interesting. 1
Facelessboy Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I think it’s a mix of different factors that come into play. I think promotion can very well work for some artist especially legacy artists but bad word of mouth can also destroy a album campaign. I have heard nothing but negative things regarding this album that left me uninterested. I think if the quality is there & you promote hard it can in fact give back. In Jennifer case this era ain’t it
Selegend Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) online conversations > TV promo no one on the internet is talking about JLO besides ATRL, so it's a non-event, so it will flop. TV promo is nice to create impact, to create viral moments... and with that u get conversations on the internet when nothing of this happens and u just do a cute performance as a promo slot, is not real promo anymore, the chart effects will be low. if she had released an album after superbowl it would be another story... but all of this TV promos aren't moving people at all so.. jonapova Posted February 21 Posted February 21 No amount of promotion can disguise the uninspiring music 3 1
CristianGarcia Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) The main problem is the concept is what nobody wanted from JLo. When she announced the album title 2 years ago we knew it was going to be a rehash of her album from 20 years ago… Even if it was good it still wasn’t going to be on trend... We wanted an evolution of JLo’s music. Latin pop has taking over for sometime now. She could’ve created her own lane within that but instead she gave us watered down 00’s esque r&b ballads? It’s such a waste cause the budget was BUDGETTING. Edited February 21 by CristianGarcia 1
gatito Posted February 21 Posted February 21 she didn't have to promote anything she already got amazon's cash 1
