I will never understand the covid excuse y’all run with on here. Charts are relative. Every artist Gaga was competing with on the charts also released during covid. She was not uniquely harmed by Covid relative to any other artist that experienced chart success during that time. 
 

And nobody but stans were after that Stupid Love leak.

Gaga had a lot of momentum back then, coming off ASIB with her long awaited return to dance pop. I don't know if she has the same momentum now, especially as a popstar. She's been away for so long.
