Songwriter Tiffany Red calls out Beyonce for stealing writing credits

Recommended Posts

I also just want to point out songwriters have said Britney Spears for example opted NOT TO get credited for songs she didn’t write. Not only is that commendable but it should be standard practice imo. Songwriters need to strike next tbh. All these major artists will be out of luck if that happens.

I've yet to see a convincing piece of information that states Beyoncé steals any writing credits. It's always reinterpretations of quotes that misconstrue what's actually being discussed (like Rob Fusari's), willful ignorance (like hearing Future answer that Drunk in Love wasn't his song he just recorded the demo but somehow thinking that means he said he wrote it) or receipts of small word changes which factually constitutes enough for a songwriting credit.

On the other side, we have accounts of songs she's fully written by herself (Jumpin' Jumpin', Independent Women) or bridges added (Crazy in Love, Halo), or verses (Formation), etc. etc.

I think it's fair to say that the average Beyoncé song these days is a combination of several writers contributions that she puts together in the way she wants, then adds/subtracts/changes lyrics or melodies as she sees fit. But still, that's pretty involved, and I think it would be impossible for any artist, let alone one like Beyoncé who works with so many, to constantly work with new groups of people and continually put out highly cohesive works that not only have her sonic DNA in them, but that also relate to a greater concept that ties them all together.

You said all that to not really say anything. Tiffany Red said Bey has taken a percentage of publishing rights from the artists who actually wrote the material because it’s an industry norm that Bey helped normalize. Tiffany also claimed there’s vocalists and producers on Renaissance with improperly filed credits that still haven’t been properly handled. She also said you’re not gonna hear from these people directly because they’ve all been made to sign NDA’s. Regardless of which way you try to present it, this is FOUL for an artist of Beyonce’s caliber. You’re hearing from a reliable person that actually personally knows the people who worked on this album, yet you’re working up a fantasy in your head that “I think it's fair to say that the average Beyoncé song these days is a combination of several writers contributions that she puts together in the way she wants.” Like girl.

It’s been well known that Beyonce strong arms writers into giving up songwriting credits and publishing, so that she can have a bigger piece of the pie.

Well known or well stated? Someone can say anything they like, doesn't make them right. If she actually "stole" something any parties would and should be able to sue her for compensation and prove she did what she is being accused of. Please do find any evidence of such cases where she has lost and post them in this thread.

Ur a stan yet I've never seen u in the base since I joined. Yea right.

And if they were a "stan" they would know how much she involved and adds to each and every song she uses for her records. She doesn't take "underserved credits". Songwriting rules are there for a reason. Even it's something as little as a word, no matter how unfair that may seem, guess what?  You're a songwriter on the song. That user is a clown.

Not beehive gatekeeping who is a stan and who isn't.

I guess if you're being objective and unbiased you get your stan card revoked. :rip:

So telling how these "exposes" always come when Bey is smashing lol where were u last year? Right, u were on mute.

Cloud chaser, thats what she is. Never worked with her but apparently has all the tea. Name the songwriters u know, NAME the SONG u refer to in ur Exposé..  but of course u dont do that. Just lots of air, crying about being poor yet I see u living in a nice house. Yea right

She’s not going to name names, because the songwriters who complained to her, signed NDAs with Beyonce. She doesn’t want to get them in legal trouble.

lol Beyoncé doesn’t have a genuine bone in her body. Anyone thinking the Renaissance project came from a place of love and passion is a total fool.

Not that comment about being genuine and the clown Avi lol

Everyone has said this for years now but Beyonce's fans have gotten so good at bullying anyone that tries to come forward(by bringing up their social status or their lack of fame etc)that it's basically pointless.

I am sure a lot people are going to just deflect from what she said by bringing the whole lyrics vs composition thing ,even when there's demos of Beyonce singing the song exactly how the demo was :rip:

It’s the same disgusting behavior they exhibited towards Kelis.

So shes saying things, has the tea, yet cant say anything. But at the same time hasn't worked with Beyonce.

So its basically - my homegirl doesnt like her and said xyz, so im gonna repeat that. Ok.

If Bey is THAT horrible, stop working for her. Dont give her any of ur material. Its SO easy to handle

Wasn't Kelis upset because Beyonce didn't personally reach out to her for sampling a song she did not write at all?
